Mr. Robert Cloud, head of the history department, teaches American History, P. A.D., and Americanism vs. Communism. He has a B. A. degree from Mississippi College. He is Business Advisor for the annual and sponsor of the Paper- back Book Store. He enjoys golfing, fishing, skiing, and watching Gator football. Our vocational agriculture teacher is Tom Cochran. He is the sponsor of the F. F. A. and loves horses. Mr. Cochran graduated from the University of Florida with a B. S.A. The other vocational agriculture teacher at Fort Meade High School is Mr. John T. Denmark. Mr. Denmark gradu- ated in 1965 from the University of Florida with a B. S. in Agriculture. In his spare time, Mr. Denmark enjoys fishing and camping. Mrs. Carrie Dotson, who teaches Business Education, is advisor for the Black and Gold and Director of Adult Edu- cation. Her favorite hobbies are her grandchildren and club- work.

Mr. Rupert Carlton is the director of the Fort Meade High School Band. He has a B.A. from Florida Southern College. Mr. Carlton enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling. Mrs. Linda Cloud teaches English I and directs the Fort Meade High School Glee Club. This year she has been annu- al sponsor and director of the special singing group, The Roaring Twenties. She has a B.A. from Mississippi College and a N.D.E.A. from Vanderbilt. Her favorite pastimes are singing, sewing, and designing. Mrs. Mickey Carlton, our Home Economics teacher, is the F.H.A. advisor and a ninth grade sponsor. She has an A.B. degree from Blue Mountain College in Mississippi. Mrs. Carl- ton spends her free time sewing, reading, and she loves to entertain at her home. Mrs. Carlton also enjoys traveling a great deal. Mr. Jake Campbell, who is our head football coach, J.V. basketball coach, and sponsor of the M Club, teaches U.S. history and world history. He has an A.B. from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina, and a M.A. from East Carolina College in Greenville, North Carolina. In his spare time, Mr. Campbell enjoys being with his family. 21

Mrs. LaVerta Ellis, who is a Black and Gold advisor, teaches Typing I, Shorthand, and Office Practice. She has a B.S. from Oakland City College, Oakland City, Indiana. Our Student Council Sponsor is Mrs. Winifred Evans. She teaches trigonometry and has a B.S. from Florida State Uni- versity. Mrs. Evans enjoys reading, sewing, and gardening. Mrs. Evans is Guidance Director. Mr. Max R. Gessner, the Junior High Guidance Counselor, is junior varsity football coach and varsity baseball coach. He has an A.B. from the Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, North Carolina. A few of Mr. Gessener's favorite pastimes are golfing and tennis. Mr. Jim Gilchrist, with a B.S. from Florida State Uni- versity, is Cooperative Education Coordinator. He is sponsor of Diversified Cooperative Training Club and secretary of the Polk County Coordinators Association. He enjoys Crooked Lake living and golf. 23
