Vocational Agriculture Agriculture II and IV are taught by Mr. Thomas A. Cochrane, who has been here for ten years. Mr. Robert Croft teaches eighth grade agriculture and has one sec- tion of Agriculture I. Vocational agriculture is a popular course at Fort Meade High, although only one year is required for boys. It is felt that they will profit greatly from this introductory training. Each boy enrolled in ag must have a project and this project must show profit at the end of the year. Membership to the F. F. A. is voluntary, but only boys who take ag may join. In the five years agriculture is offered, these subjects are covered; citrus production, beef cattle production, vegetation, animal enterprises, and farm-shop program. The purpose of the ag program is to teach proficiency not only in farming, but also in the marketing and distribution of farm products. Page 20
