CLASS PROPHECY Being proof reader for the nation's leading newspaper, The Fort Meade Weakly , I have no trouble at all keeping up with ray old classmates, who are all famous names in the occupations which they have chosen. No doubt you will be interested to know what each one is doing just ten years after that all important graduation day. Working right on our own staff is Billy Sloan, who draws the comic strip, Sloan's Sillyism8 which was just voted first place in the cartoon world. Also, drawing our advertisements of women's clothing is Dot McDaniel. They say she makes a thousand bucks a week. Not bad, huh? I just received a copy of our today's paper. Turning to the news page, I'm not surprised to see another member of our class has make headlines. Chief engineer Johnny Hendricks has Just been decorated by five countries for the building of a new underground tunnel across the Atlantic Ocean. I see where Ira Sturgis has invented a new silent alarm clock. He has been granted patent number 76895 23. Glancing down the page I see the weather report. Observer Earl Lunn says we are still to have sunny days. Now, what do you know about this? Seems as if Earl Thomas is a big time broker on Wall Street. Wonder if he still has his loaded dice? Bettye Rowell is chief scientist at Oak Ridge. She takes hydrogen out of the H. Bomb. Dot Gramling has Just won the Mrs. America title. She is the only person ever to win the Miss America and Mrs. America title. But, we knew she could do it. The radio program is full of familiar names. Over station EARL you can hear Betty Young in Youngens Yarns . By the way, tne broadcasting system is owned by her husband Earl Sellars. At 12:30 you can hear Tina's Tips To The Teens , starring Tina Crawford. At 9:30 P.M. Betsy Stokes brings you a mystery thriller. Tonight the story is Goldie Locks and the Peroxide Bottle . Turning to the sports page we find many of our boys in tne top news items. Seems like the nation's No.l jockey Oren Brooks nas just won tne Kentucky Derby. He rode the horse Beetle Bomb which is owned by Thomas Prine. Txnmas now owns eignt race horses which net him about $2,000 per week.
