EDNA FLOY BROWN ran true to form and became one of the country’s most renowned surgeons. BETTY RUSHING lives in Washington.' Betty pursues the Navy and has a job with the Federal Mint as a side line. MARCELLA was married in 1949 but soon after got a little WYSER. She is now a drama coach at Summerlin High. While buying a hat one day I noticed the label on it, Millie’s Hats”. Being curious, I inquired about the designer. It turned out to be none other than MILDRED HENDRY, who now lives in Miami, the fashion center of America. To my surprise one day while at the office I picked up the phone and heard the musical voice of BILL ACUFF. He was in New York singing in the most fashionable night clubs with the Roy Acuff Company. Maybe I wasn't too surprised because we always were good friends? After finding this many of the ole gang I traveled down to Ft. Meade. Gee, but the place had grown into a huge met- ropolis. I could hardly believe my eyes as I walked down Broadway Boulevard. The first person I recognized was JOAN SHIRLEY. After graduation Joan became a florist until her marriage in 1950 to a lawyer. It seems that MARTHA BASS became a great chemist after her happy marriage. But alas! One day one of her very fragrant concoctions blew the house and hubby sky high. She is now a pharmacist at Varn’s Drug Store. PATSY HARWARD has received a promotion in the movie business. She is now owner and operator of the Colored Theater in Torrey. EDWARD SCOTT decided to take pity on the poor unfortunates who didn’t have muscles. He started Scotties Muscl. Factory . The headquarters are in Spook Hill, a suburb of Pcmbrook, which in turn is a suburb of Ft. Meade. T. J. DAVIS became Mayor of Ft. Meade. That is a good desk job with a knee-action secretary. Oh yes! The secretary is DOROTHY SWAFFORD. First person I saw when I entered the high school was WILMA WALDRON coming out. She had just finished h r Post Graduate course in Commercial studies. After getting my bearings from her I found my way to the office. There I found CLARA GOFF, secretary of the school. She admitted me to the Principal’s office and who did I find but EVELYN ALBRITTON, sitting behind the desk of Principal. She was looking very dignified at that. I found out through her that HOWARD WILLIAMSON was a history teacher there. TONY HANCOCK and MAURICE STOKES went into business together. Yep, the H 6c S” Cattle Ranch. They also run a dairy. Most of the old classmates get their milk from them. CAROLYN KNIGHT is contentedly married. She and her husband own and run Brown’s Grocery Store in Bowling Green. STUART RINGDAHL is the owner of Ringdahl Glue Factory”, located in Leesville. I’d like to take this opportunity to advertise the fact that he is in the market for any ole grey marcs. HELEN BEST DRISKELL always did like to help people so she started the Friendly Detective Service” in Ft. Meade. ERNEST DEAN went to college at Stetson University. Upon graduation he was given a job as research chemist for the college. • BILLY FITCH has at last realized his life-long ambition. He lives in India and has a harem with 50 wives. I don’t even have to tell you, because everyone knows that MARIAN SPIETH is the Democratic candidate for President in the coming election. Yes, we have gone far and made great names for ourselves. But we did no more than the expected, for didn’t we always have a good class? MARGERY FARR, Class Prophet.

CLASS PROPHECY It is now the Spring of 1957, and the class of 1947 has bumped and jolted along the road of life for ten long, hard years. Before graduation ten years ago, our class planned to have a reunion picnic at Kissengcn Springs, exactly ten years aft- er our graduation. I was elected to see that the rest of the ole gang received word about it in plenty of time. Since I am a cub reporter on a paper, The Sun”, of New York, it wasn't too hard to keep track of them, as they are all famous for something. I first got in touch with PATSY DURRANCE, who is head of the Phoney Publishing Company” annuals. which publishes Next, I called on my friend, BARBARA BELL, who was RUSHING around hanging out baby clothes—she always did like babies, remember? Well, she now has quintuplets. She promised to be there and that she would tell GEORGE, who is a composer. His latest gift to the music world is a symphony entitled Don’t Wait Up If I’m Late, General, Just Leave a Sergeant turning In the Window.” JERRY HURST is a star in the Metropolitan Opera so I 'phoned and told her the glad tidings. CLARK ADAMS was next on my list and I knew where he was; so I hurried over to the city docks. He is still in the Merchant Marines and is Admiral of the good ship Rough-House”. EDWARD RICHARDS is his Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. Found out through the paper that LILLIAN CONNOR was touring the country giving a series of lectures on having a husband and a career”. LATIMER FARR is a sports broadcaster and you can hear him each Saturday afternoon over station F-L-A-S-H”. As a matter of fact, you can hear him anytime if you’ll just listen. Remember how JOHN BARNETT loved to DEBATE”? He’s now a member of the We Never Lose An Argument No Matter How Wrong We Are” debating team. SHIRLEY GREEN is head of the Lonely Hearts”. Its headquarters are in New York and upon visiting it I found that EVELYN ROWELL, IRENE TUCKER, and LEOLA CREWS were there. All of their husbands were dead except Shirley’s and she never had one. Anyway, they are all in the market. MARIAN GRUNHOLZER and VERNON CLYATT are now happily married. She is a concert violinist and made her debut in Paris. Vernon is a comic script writer and his brain baby is Buddy Is Gung”. ALICE KEEN broadcasts each morning over station KITTL POT”, giving recipes and advice to newly weds. Alice is now the proud mother of three boys. ANITA DOKE did go to Webber College and train to b? a stenographer. She got a job in Detroit as secretary to the vice-president of the Buick Motor Company, a former Wauchula boy she knew in high school days. The old fable about secre- taries marrying their bosses came true in this case. An advertisement came through the office one day announcing that the Rhodes Rodeo”, featuring as King of the Rodeo, OREN CRAWFORD, their riding, romping, and roping star, would be in Madison Square Gardens soon. EARL WALKER attended a school in Maryland and studied Electrical Engineering. But the protons and electrons just would not cooperate, so now Earl is math teacher in Ft. Meade High. FRANCES DOUGLAS lived up to the class’s expectations and became a movie star. She is living in Hollywood now with her fourth husband. MARGIE BEVIS is also in Hollywood. She is owner and operator of the Hubba-Hubba Beauty Parlor”. JIMMY McSWAIN always did like pretty faces so when we graduated he, too, heard the beckoning call of the City of Glamour”. He is still there and is prop man for Twenty-First Century Fox.
