Bill Craig. Michele Manning. Carole Figloy. and Charles Smith talk over the new and interesting experiences they find in their work. They are the only juniors who take part in the D.C.T. program. Diversified Cooperative Training Club was organized for students who wished to combine a worlc-a-day world with high school. Only Juniors and Seniors are eligible to participate in this program. Anyone who takes part in the I program becomes a member of the club. They must main- tain a high scholastic average. The members receive train- ing and develop skills through actual work experience. D.C.T. provides a gradual transition from school to employment. The students in D.C.T. must follow a rigorous schedule. They attend school in the morning, hold a job in the after- noon, and study at night. The club's main projects are an employee-employer banquet in the spring and the adoption of a family at Christmas time. Doreen Rooney looks up a price list in the files at Retail Credits. She. like ell other D.C.T. members, attends school in the morning and works at a business firm in the afternoon. 269
