AVIATION Enthusiasts Enjoy CLUB Airplane enthusiasts are naturally drawn to the Avia- tion Club. This club is sponsored by Mr. Daniel Lee. who attended West Point. The club studies aeronautical science and also follows the most recent scientific happenings in the world. The club plans to buy an air- plane to help further interest in aviation in the school. Bill Craig. Michele Manning. Carole Figloy. and Charles Smith talk over the new and interesting experiences they find in their work. They are the only juniors who take part in the D.C.T. program. Diversified Cooperative Training Club was organized for students who wished to combine a worlc-a-day world with high school. Only Juniors and Seniors are eligible to participate in this program. Anyone who takes part in the I program becomes a member of the club. They must main- tain a high scholastic average. The members receive train- ing and develop skills through actual work experience. D.C.T. provides a gradual transition from school to employment. The students in D.C.T. must follow a rigorous schedule. They attend school in the morning, hold a job in the after- noon, and study at night. The club's main projects are an employee-employer banquet in the spring and the adoption of a family at Christmas time. Doreen Rooney looks up a price list in the files at Retail Credits. She. like ell other D.C.T. members, attends school in the morning and works at a business firm in the afternoon. 269
