BRAD BOYDEll SALLY CRIPPEN BOB ELFERS BARBARA FETTERS SWIMMING The Flying L Mermaids completed the 1953 season with another undefeated record, while the Mermen were downed once by the aggressive Coral Gables Cavaliers. For the sixth consecutive year the boys and girls both streaked through their respective divisions for the state championship. The boys also went on to take the Big Ten championship. The girls opened the 1954 season seeking their 83rd consecutive win. With only one returning senior.
