EXECUTIVE STUDENT COUNCIL DAVID HAUN Vice President IYN MATHEWS Treasurer ♦ PAUL SULLIVAN Department of Interior A BOB CLARK President The Fort Lauderdale High School Stu- dent Council is made up of the entire student body and is run by three main groups, the Executive, Legislative and Inter-Club Councils. Members of the Executive Council are chosen each spring in a school-wide election for the following year. The Legislative Council has one representative from each homeroom and the Inter-Club Council has one from each club. The Student Council does an excellent job, providing the school with a demo- cratic student government and foster- ing good relationships between the students and the faculty. It also en- courages students to develop habits of good citizenship which they will take with them when they graduate from high school. Band appears as a marching band in parades and at football games. It also presents several concerts each year. While mastering a musical instru- ment, the band member learns the value of self- control and teamwork. By combining talent with hard work and co-operation the Lauderdale High Band has gained recognition in the community and the state for its outstanding performance. BAND ACTIVITIES
