To The Seniors of Fort Knox High School: You have reached one goal and passed one milestone in graduating from Fort Knox High School, You are commended for freeing yourself from some of the chains of ignorance, I but remember, people are not free A who have learned only that which restricts their vision and warps their judgment. People are free who have learned that learning is a lifelong process of development and fulfillment in intellectual, emotional, and moral growth. You have done a good job, but the challenge of new goals should lead you to the realization that if you stop now the world will pass you by. You cannot know that with your present knowledge and skill you will have a place in the world five years from now. Know instead that for you life must be perpetual self-discovery, perpetual re- shaping to that which builds intellect c h a r a c t e r, personality, adaptability creariveness and vitality. You are lree to the extent that you have the tools of learning and tech- niques of action, the ability to analyze, to create, to organize, and - if deep in your soul - you search for truth. You are recognized for your accom- plishments ancl encouraged to future learning, but knowledge alone is not enough. Greater love, faith, and under- standing are necessary if you are to help ethical attitudes and civilized behavior increase in our world.
