M JKKQCNQ CQO jhe 1979 - 80 school year was a year of adjusrmenr for Forr Hunr High School Alrhough rhe school was ready for use by Sepr 5, portions of rhe building were nor ready for occuparion. The home econom¬ ics deparrmenr, rhe auditorium, rhe cafeteria kitch¬ ens, and rhe administrative offices had nor been completed Students were forced to make rhe best of what they had, something Forr Hunr has gotten used to doing since December 1978 Nor only students had to pur up with rhe situation, bur also rhe faculty was hindered by rhe situation Box - loads of books were left at Mr Vernon when they should have been at Ft Hunr, and rhe administration had to pur up with rhe library as a temporary office for three long months. We can all remember rhe hunger pangs experienced as rhe home ec classes barbecued chicken in rhe courtyard and then going to rhe cafeteria to face those delicious (?) sack lunchesl Bur through all rhe inconveniences and make shifts, we pulled together as one unit - namely Forr Hunr High School Gourmer foods srudenrs, Jim Dowmon and Gina Barisano, demon srrore rhe copobiliry of rheir beloved microwave oven Drama class members, lacking a srage ro pracrice on, srudy rheir lines in rhe classroom I 24

Many of rhe local elemenrary schools proved ro be a convenlenr place ro hang our, as well os Mr Vernon Hill and even rhe old rradirional Jock Hall From rhe 90 days of spring ro rhe 20 days of winrer, rhe smoking lounge was always a popular hangour. If you were nor an ourdoor person, maybe Jock Hall or rhe lobby of rhe Lecrure Demonsrrarion Room was more your place ro hang around No marrer who you were, rhere was always some where wirhin rhe mighry walls of Fr Hunr rhar you could srand around - jusr ro shoor rhe breeze Afrer school you had a wide variery of places ro spend your afrernoon Some peo¬ ple chose ro sray home in fronr of rheir favorire soap opera, while orhers venrured as for as Popkins Hill Eirher way, ir was your choice and your place ro hang our Overall rhere were many in and our of school hangours.
