Student leaders meet in ourdoor setting Early rhe morning of Seprember 15, eighty srudenr leaders from Fr Hunr mer in rhe parking lor and piled on buses. Sleeping bags and suitcases and coolers full of food were prepared to go, and rhe buses rook off. The Srudenr Government had been busy with rhe organizarion and planning of rhe First Annual Leadership Conference ar Prince William Foresr Park for months. Adminisrrarors were there, dressed in flan¬ nel shirrs and jeans The ourdoor locarion of rhe workshop made a relaxing and differ¬ ent atmosphere, however, relaxation was nor rhe purpose of this trip. Meetings held with adminisrrarors, rhe Srudenr Govern¬ ment officers, Dr Herman Howard, and Toni McMahan, PTSA officer, made for some enlightening discussions. Questions were raised about rhe grading sysrem and rhe PTSA A panel discussion wirh panel members from all aspects of rhe school and a group talk abour vandalism and aparhy in rhe school were important parrs of rhe two - day affair Of course, everyone was given a chance ro go hiking in rhe scenic woods and rhe mov¬ ie classic, Reefer Madness, made for unique enrerrainmenr The trip was a great success, as rhe leaders of Fr. Hunr High School were given a chance ro ger ro know one another berrer and to understand and cope wirh problems rhar arise during rhe year as a leader.
