Weeks were spenr in preparation for Spirit Week 1979. The Student Government starr¬ ed early recruiting volunteers to help with such necessities as decorations for the donee and coordination of oil the events. The usual problems arose — too much to be done and nor enough rime in. which to do it. Various- clubs sponsored some rather inter¬ esting activities such os the Sexy Legs Con¬ test, won by Mr. Drion Tully and Steve Allen, Spirit Chain, and Dress - Up Day. The girls were actually expected to refrain from speaking to guys for Dig Mouth” Day! Fri¬ day was the culmination of oil the effort os 1600 spirited students crowded into the gym for on half - hour of screaming spirit.
