On Lincoln ' s Birthday, the Symphonic Orchestra held a guest artist concert featuring Lt. Col. Mitchell, Ret., from the Army Band; Linda Baker, bass clarinet soloist; and Amy Gordon, violin soloist. The Orchestra performed Lincoln Portrait, honoring the occasion. Clockwise from right: Beth Earl and Linda Wiggins concentrate on one of the numbers. Sophomore Amy Gordon solos on her violin. Alumna Linda Baker returns to perform a solo. The oboes contributed their part. Bassoonists Cady Stauss and Jenny Stone accompany in Lincoln Portrait. Lt. Col. Well, they really did play that funky music . Throughout the Thanksgiving Dance on November 27 Summit rocked and rolled and discoed for two and a half hours to a not always large but usually rowdy crowd. Because of the tender gym floor, the cafeteria was used this year for dances, a situation not everyone was happy with. How¬ ever, most people managed to adjust, preferring hustling to complaining any¬ time.
