Economics and Business Student Boon Created By Stenographic Lab Opened this year, a stenographic listening laboratory proved a boon to secretarial training in the economics and business division. More than 3.000 students were enrolled in one or more classes in the division in the fall. Included on the teaching staff were 23 full-time faculty members, as well as part-time instructors and graduate as- sistants. Seven specialized areas offered more than 100 courses in economics and business. The curriculum covered accounting, economics, general business, business teaching, data processing, secretarial work and geography. Concentration is a must when totaling figures on an adding machine. In typing desses students learn to prepare different types of documents and correspondence and to improve their speed and accuracy. 22
