First Snow, Sorority Rush Arrive Simultaneously The first snow ushered in sorority rush, making shoes soggy, hair droopy and faces rosy. But personality bubbled at the parties as Greeks sought tp impress rushees, and rushees sought to impress Greeks. Themes for the preferential parties included Tc-ke Botche, an oriental scheme; Hellenic Holiday; South Pacific; Pearl and Triangle; and Pink Rose, Snow failed to hamper rushing and pledging new sorority members, and to prevent the majority of students from tromping to classes. Would you like to say a few words about being Reveille Queen? ' Dean Garwood asks Garble Faustian at the Reveille Ball, Dances — Dinners — Festivities Mark Month of December December hailed a flurry of activities, among them the annual Reveille Ball. Carole Faustian was selected Reveille Queen by actor Paul Newman and was crowned at the dance by Dean Garw r ood. New this Christmas and slated to become tradition was the Madrigal Dinner introduced by the Memorial Urnon Variety Committee, The feast in 16th Century English style featured wassail, a boars head, flaming plum pudding, decorations resembling a baronial banquet hall and Madrigal, Singers garbed in medieval costume. For the eighth year, Agnew Hall invited faculty children to a Christ- mas party. Many groups contributed time, energy and friendship to service projects — -giving toys to children and visiting shut-ins. Following tradition, campus organizations hung a tree with Christm as cards and gave it to President Cunningham, A Christmas oratorio, The Infancy of Christ” was presented December 20 by the combined glee clubs. Concert Choir, Choral Union and Collegian Chorale — accompanied by the College-Community Orchestra. Dances, dinner and a round of parties crowded the schedule until classes dosed December 22 and everyone went home. The Lord of the Manor, Leon Tilbury lifts his cup in a toast to the Christmas season.
