X l P H II 8 C 1 1 1 T 1 8 T 8 : A mutual interest in the advancement of science is the tie that binds together the mem- bers of Delta Epsilon, national honorary science fraternity. As alt branches of science are represented in the membership of this organization the programs contain a variety of sub jects as the members present their reports and research papers. Students who are interested in joining Delta Epsilon must meet several requirements They must be of senior standing with m; rs in some phase of science and they must have a high scholastic standing. Members of the faculty in the various science departments are eligible for membership. Standlee V Dalton is president of Delta Epsilon: George M Robertson, vice-president; and Donald M. Johnson, secretary treasurer. II l) II II I V li Ml V S I f 1ST S : One of the newest organizations on the campus is Sigma Pi Sigma. National Physics Honor Society, the purpose of which is to encourage the study of physics and recognize high scholarship in that field. This chapter was organized in 19 9 but already thev have accomplished a great deal in their field. This winter the group sponsored a speech on mechanics by Dr John Rinehart Officers tor this year were La Verne Painter, president. Kenneth Moore, vice president Dr H. A. Loren Grove vice president Bob Fuller secretary and John Sites, treasurer For the second sermsur they were Ralph Smith, president bill Muxlowe. vice-president Bob I ostma. secretary: and Vinton Carver, treasurer. | II 1 1, 1 T V I’ t: II N II 111 1 II : The K —a Tiger ' s cherished reward for the spirit displayed in helping to win for us glorious victories, and lor gracefully acknowledging defeat — is bestowed upon a candidate after lie has earned at least one letter in a major sport and after he goes through an appro- ' Tlw ' wearer of the big gold ' K ' immediately assumes the obligation of leading, pushing, or otherwise guiding the fresh ic bv means of belt or lipstick, to wear his small ill- fitting headgear In like manner they discourage listless wanderers from wearing beaten paths across the campus lawn . . - 1t 11 members of the K club sit in one seen .1 at athletic events and cheer their fellow members and potential members on to victory. At these contests some members are busy selling refreshments to throat sore spectators. The profits of this enterprise are used in giving an annual spring party. . , - . . The school spirit which they show and the zest with which they do things indicate that their s is an active group.
