E O X F F E C I U C T E I R V E LCDR R. A. DUFFY LCDR Raymond A. Duffy from Huntington Station, New York, received his commission in May 1970 through the NROTC program at Villanova University. LCDR Duffy served aboard USS AMERICA CCV 661, USS NASHVILLE CLPD 135, as Operations Officer on USS MERIDETH CDD 8901 and as Chief Engineer onboard USS SPARTANBURG COUNTY CLST 11925. While ashore LCDR Duffy served as Officer in Charge at the Department of Naval Science Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Michael Wittkamp from Richmond, Virgina graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1970. His first tour was as Chief Engineer on USS FORCE QMSO-4455 homeported out of Pearl Harbor and later Guam. Following that he was on the precommissioning crew of USS ROBERT E. PEARY QFF-10735 as First Lieutenant and Communications Officer. After a brief period at Newport, R.I. attending Department Head School he assumed duties as Operations Officer on the USS HOLLISTER CDD-788. His first tour in the Gator Navy was for two years as the First Lieutenant of USS JUNEAU CLPD-l0j after which he was assigned as Director Management Systems Division at Navy Recruiting Command Headquarters in Washington D.C. He was Executive Officer on USS FORT FISHER QLSD-401 from 1 June 1982 until 5 February 1984.
