Dedication MR. JOHN KILRAIN The pride a class has in itself depends for the most part on the teachers that have produced it. The Class of 1966 feels that Mr. John Kilrain has contributed greatly to the success of our achievements. Not only has Mr. Kilrain been our English teacher, the director of our Senior Play, and the advisor of the Literature Club, but he has also been our sincere friend. The dedication of the 1966 SIREN to Mr. Kilrain is our way of paying respect to a man we will never forget. Editor’s Message EDITOR Anne Moore The Editorial Staff wishes to submit this edition of the 1966 SIREN as a history of the events of our class. We have presented to the best of our ability the faculty, the classes, the school activities, both in our organizations and in our athletic program, that have been a part of us for the past four years. Our special gratitude goes to Mr. La Sarso whose patient direction has made this annual yearbook possible. Class History In September of 1962, we began our excursion into the unknown world of High School, Our first step into this area was under the leadership of Anne Moore, President; Kathy Boucher, Vice-President; David Gates, Secretary; Mary Ann Linehan, Treasurer; and Joe D’Angelico, Student Council. Our first project of our career was the annual magazine sales which helped to increase our class treasury. To lead us through our Sophomore year we elected the following class officers: Bill Mondoux, President; Joe D’Angelico, Vice-President, Donna Rabine, Secretary; Mary Ann Linehan, Treasurer, Ray Burch and George Nolan, Student Council. As Sophomores our project for the year was the Sadie Hawkins Dance, which proved to be both profitable and enjoyable. Since we were lucky enough to order our rings in our Sophomore year, we were more anxious than the other classes had been for their arrival. They finally came in December. What a great Christmas present they made for some people! The next main event of the year was the Junior Prom. The theme Moonlight and Roses was effectively carried out with a setting of red roses upon a white background. Reigning as Queen was Donna Rabine, with Kenneth Hayes as her King. Her attendents included Mary Lou Carpenter, Margaret Grogan, Kathy Boucher, Faye Jordon, Mary Ann Linehan, and Anne Moore. The officers for the year were: Bill Mondoux, President; Joe D'Angel-ico, Vice-President, Donna Rabine, Secretary, Mary Ann Linehan, Treasurer; Duane Anderson, and Kathleen Bowe, Student Council Representatives. The big year finally came. Since we were the pride of the school, we tried to be a good example. To help carry us through the many activities of our Senior Year, we chose: Bill Mondoux, President, Joe D'Angelico, Vice-President, Donna Rabine, Secretary; Mary Ann Linehan, Treasurer; and Duane Anderson, Trina Sarchioto, and Kathleen Bowe as our Student Council members. The Senior Play Who Dun’it? under the direction of Mr. Kilrain, was effectively carried out with each member of the cast playing his part well. Our Senior Ball was a highlight of the year which everyone enjoyed. But Easter vacation was what everyone waited for. Our trip to Washington was the climax of four years of planning and hard work. And now as we graduate we would like to give special thanks to our advisors - Mrs. Holbrook, Miss Etu, Miss Canavan, Mr. LaSarso and Mr. Toomey— for making our High School days the success that they were. Dave goes wild on the drums, while Faye carries out the beat on the dance floor. While there, I met Joanne who filled me in on the latest gossip concerning our classmates. She is now employed at the High School along with Gayle, Linda, Colleen, Donna, and Eileen. Keeping the school in shape, under the advice of Coach McCarty and girls' physical education teacher Mary Davis, are Tom Fisher, Earl Lemery, Glenn B., and Joe C. Garry is now president of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), and Kathy Boucher is feeling right at home as an X-ray technician at the hospital. WHAT IS A DIPLOMA? Is a diploma simply a certificate that proves you are educated ? Is it only a document and no more? Is it just your reward for staying to graduate? Or is it the symbol of a beginning, the commencement of what you have been preparing for during those long years of homework and frustration? You could sit back and watch the world go by. Or you could grow with it, learning and profiting through all your experiences. It is not fate or luck that determines your future. It is you. As you look back over your life many years from now, will you have any regrets? What you decide now will have a great deal to do with determining the answer to that question. Make yours a wise and considered choice. G THE GLENS FALLS GROUP WHERE YOU ARE ALWAYS NUMBER ONE Glens Falls Insurance Company, The National Life Assurance Company of Canada. Glenway Corporation.
