(j ass Jfistory The door squeaked open; the chains rattled; and we entered the new and forbidding world of high school as insignificant Freshmen. Because we were too shaky, we elected oVir officers to lead us: Bob Cameron, president; Gordon Ellmers, vice president; Diane Gifford, secretary; Ruth Ann Haas, treasurer; and Janie Newell, Student Council member. In the fall of 1960, we again passed through the squeaking door, this time as Sophomores. Our main event was the Sadie Hawkins dance, which proved to be a worthwhile undertaking for our treasury. This year our noble leaders were: Gordon Ellmers, president; John Bowe, vice president; Diane Gifford, secretary; Bob Cameron, treasurer; and Janie Newell, Student Council member. The following year, we didn’t even notice the squeaking of the door as we, excited Juniors, passed through it, anticipating the arrival of our rings and our prom. Our prom theme was The Loveliest Night of the Year with Frances Collier, as queen, and Phillip Nicholson, as king, reigning by her side. The wise old owl told us that our leaders for this year should be: Bob Cameron, president; Ruth Ann Haas, vice president; Diane Gifford, secretary; Gordon Ellmers, treasurer; Janie Newell and Tommy Sarchioto, Student Council members. At last, we passed through the well-oiled door as philosophical Seniors, very confident and wise in our ways. Our main activities were: the Senior play, the Senior Ball, and the Washington Trip. Our play was a three-act comedy entitled, Inside Lester, and starred Ruth Ann Haas and Gordon Ellmers. The class elected most wisely the following capable Seniors as class officers: Ruth Ann Haas, president; Bob Cameron, vice president; Marilyn Del Signore, secretary; Gordon Ellmers, treasurer; Janie Newell, Barb Strang, and Tommy Sarchioto, Student Council members. We, Seniors, wish to extend our gratitude and our thanks to our advisors who have so faithfully helped us these past four years: Mrs. Munson, Mrs. Hardick, Mrs. Harmon, Mrs. Loughlin, Mr. Lewza, Mr. Mullen, Mr. LaSarso, and Mr. Sauter.
