But being confined to the routine of high school, we were limited in our activities. Our class officers for our Freshman year were: Peggy Bowe, president; Tom Quat-trocchi, vice president; Bob Simmons, secretary; Patty Smatko, treasurer; and Dave Sanderspree represented our class in the Student Council. After a year of hard work and fun, we passed into our Sophomore year. During the fall we organized and presented the Sadie Hawkins Dance which proved to be a successful social and financial venture. Our leaders for this year were: Tom Quattrocchi, president; Bob Simmons, vice president; Joe Sheehan, secretary; Pat Smatko, treasurer; Freda Godfrey and Dave Sanderspree represented us in Student Council. Somehow, we survived and marched again through the halls of Fort Edward High - this time as Juniors. As class officers, we elected Joe Sheehan, president; Joanne Catone, vice president; Ed Aurelia, secretary; Pat Smatko, treasurer; Bob Simmons and Bill Pickett, Student Council representatives. This was an exciting year because we looked forward to our Junior Prom and receiving our class rings. We considered our prom to be the social high-light of the entire year and were very pleased to hear others say the same. Under the direction of Elaine Elder, we decorated our gym to the theme of While We're Young. Patty Smatko was crowned queen and chose as her king, Tom Quattrocchi. Her court consisted of: Elaine Elder, Marg Leonard, Marilyn Boucher, Peggy Bowe, Donna Gilman, and Joanne Catone. The first business of the Senior year was to elect class officers. Joe Sheehan was again elected president; Bob Simmons, vice president; Tom Quattrocchi, secretary; Joyce DeLano, treasurer; and Bill Pickett, Peggy Bowe, and Marg Leonard were elected as our Student Council representatives. Highlights of the year included our Senior Play, the Christmas Skit, the Senior Ball and our Washington trip. Our Senior Play, That Brewster Boy, under Mrs. Story's direction and starring Dick Murray and Gary Evens was a rousing success. Our class projects which enabled us to spend Easter vacation in Washington, D.C. were all successful through the concentrated efforts of everyone. We, as Seniors, would like to extend our thanks to our advisors. Miss Etu, Mr. Wurm, Mrs. Holbrook, Mr. LaSarso, Mr. Toomey, and Miss Canavan, who have helped to make our high school days one long, happy memory. Can You Imagine Curtis Alheim with a pug nose? While We’re Young OUR QUEEN Patricia Smatko Miss Mary Bruce, the Queen of I960, crowns the Queen of the 1961 Junior Prom, Miss Patricia Smatko. The Court of the 1961 Junior Prom. The queen and her escort, Tom Quattrocchi. Prophecy The time is 9:00 p.m.; the date June 30, 1972; the place Howard's Hideaway managed, of course, by Ray Howard in the location of the old Tom's Grill. We're celebrating the first reunion of the class of '62, and as we glance about, we see the familiar faces of former classmates. All that noise is being caused by Hazelton, Murray, Sgorrano who are, respectively, managers of the Grand Union, A P, and Country Dollar. They seem to be haggling over prices. Just beyond them is Tim Kitchner, owner of a chain of gas stations, all sentimentally called Bucky's. He's talking to Peggy Corriveau who has profited well from her original production of a red hair dye and to Ann Cimo who is making them both laugh at some of the jokes she has told on the Jack Parr show recently. Kathy Meagher, owner of her own beauty salon, Mme Kathleen's, is very interested in the beautiful menus printed by Bill Allen. Louis Rea, fullback for the Baltimore Colts, and Mark Ives, sharp-shooter for the Boston Celtics, are reminiscing with Tom Quattrocchi who has been chosen to receive the international artists' award. Speaking of awards, there's Paul Schlake who was given the award of the year for his original design in furniture. All of our nurses are talking together - Joanne Catone, pediatric nurse at St. Peter's; Olivia Stamper, Marilyn Boucher, and Ruth Kanaly, all on private cases; and Freda Godfrey, Dr. Kildaire's assistant. That roaring sound outside is being caused by Curtis Alheim, John Dobroski, Bob Perry, and Bob Simmons who have just rolled in from Indianapolis. Janice Nadeau and Donna Woodard are politely discussing the upcoming contest for Homemaker of the year in which they are both interested. Joan Dickinson, looking cute in her uniform is making a career of the Waves. Emily Geroux lives happily on a farm in Argyle. That girl in the black dress is Donna Gilman, a fashion model now. Dwight Gorham, director of several Little Theatre companies, is listening to Allen Rosenberg, owner of a chain of department stores. Nancy Reese is originator of a new type of candy, Reesey cups. Elaine Elder, who teaches French in the Elementary grades, is talking with Gary Evans, president of Evans' Enterprises, Inc., whose secretaries, Linda Sewell and Linda Bennett, are laughing over company jokes. That clatter is just Ed Aurelia's slide rule falling from his coat pocket. Margaret Leonard, who through family connections is business manager of a larger dairy concern, is being shown a new back hand stroke by LeRoy Tyler and Charles Fuller, tennis instructors at a boys' school. Linda Carroll, manager of her own news stand; Joyce DeLano, first woman treasurer of the United States government; Peggy Bowe, president of the National Friendship Club; Debbie Bascom, professional giggler of MGM's canned laughs ; Pat Smatko, this year's Mardi Gras queen; and Mary Jane Dragon, originator of new dolls called Dragonettes, are discussing world politics with Bill Fraw-ley, the U. S. Ambassador to Canada. Nancy Morrison, head of the Morrison Riding Stables, and Marilyn Hunsperger, who sells silent automobile horns are laughing at Frank Munoff's witty remarks. He just closed a sixteen week engagement at the Copa. The rest of our class is milling about, laughing and talking. What do they do now? Well, Ann Gitto has opened Mamma Annie's Pizza Parlor. Dick Fredericksen is the National Scout Master. Tom Harrington now owns Fairholme Dairy. Nancy Bennett works with her sister as a secretary. Tom Ireland is professor of electronics at Notre Dame. Mike Morency is chief of police and Gary Morency is a dentist. Maryesther Cronkhite lives presently in Greenwich. Sue Ives sells little pink cars. Margaret Ives resides in Hudson Falls. Bea Jordan sings in the choir at. St. Patrick's Cathedral in Albany. Bill Pickett plays in the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Charles Pidgeon runs his farm in Argyle. Joe Sheehan, in connection with a large lumber concern, has insured most of the homes in Fort Edward. Oh, midnight, the bewitching hour; we all toast one another and promise to meet in the very same place ten years from this day for another wonderful class reunion.
