■ Presented by SENIOR CLASS OF 1958 FORT EDWARD HIGH SCHOOL Fort Edward, New York Ccfitors Tit essay e It has been the sincere purpose of the Siren staff of 1957-1958 to record effectively the events and activities of this school year as you would like to remember them. In years to come, may you turn through these pages and recall only pleasant memories of achievements, happy and worthwhile experiences, and unselfish and lasting friendships formed while at F. H, E. S. SUSAN CIMO Editor-in-Chief MARILYN ROCHE Assistant Editor Dedication We, the Class of 1958, dedicate this edition of the Siren to our former friend and classmate, Frank Belden, who died on November 6, 1955, as a result of an injury sustained in a football game. A trophy case has been built by friends, teachers, and classmates as a lasting tribute to a fine boy. HE WANTED TO WIN To the beautiful isle of somewhere Our Frank was destined to go Where he will be with the angels And God will watch o'er him, I know. Fort Edward High will never forget The lad who was so game. He played till the end with his buddies Even though he was in pain. He loved Fort Edward and they loved him His school meant so much to him, And his spirit will be there at every game, The lad who wanted to win. Rip” Lewza's Flying Forts, although not finishing too high in the conference standings, did make a good account of themselves on many occasions. They broke the high school scoring record in a game against South Glens Falls by scoring the nets for 104 points, breaking the record set last season of 96 scored against the same school. Also in this game Jim Shaw's 36 points broke the individual scoring record of 33 held previously by Paul Sheehan. Things look much brighter for the Forts next year as only Rock Hall and Jim Shaw will be missing. The Forts will have four veterans returning next year in the person of Paul Sheehan and Dan D'Angelico, each of whom scored over 200 points. Also returning for service will be Bud Biddiscombe, leading rebounder, and Dick Cameron, a Sophomore Sensation, who came on toward the end of the season. Nick Becker, a 6'4 Junior, who missed this year because of scholastic difficulties will be available for duty. J. V. CB a sB216a ff F. Moore, W. Etu, A. Davidson, T. Gavin, W. McCarty, R. Rea, M.
