EDITORIAL STAFF 1st row John LaRouche, Sports Chairman; Alice Kayes, Typing Chairman; Nicholas LaSarso, Editor-In-Chief; Anne O'Hearn, Literary Chairman; Barbara Carroll, Circulation Chairman. 2nd row James Hilton, Photography Chairman; Cherie Woodcock, Art chairman; Dominick Caputo, Advertising Chairman. Any complaints about the yearbook? If so, this is the group to see. These literary geniuses??? are the big wheels of The Siren Staff of 1951• How often have we heard these phrases since this staff began operations— Editorial staff meeting tonight-everyone PLEASE attend. Come on kids, we've just got to get the Class Will done this week. Somebody's got to write the Class History. We've lost two pictures again. Sometimes we wondered if the yearbook was ever going to be written and sent to the printers. Then one lucky day, everything was finished—the last word y ritten, the last order taken, the last advertisement handed in, the last sports information handed in, the last picture drawn, the last page typed, and the last photograph taken. As a result of the hard work of the editonax staff, their assistants, and the co-operation and valuable aid given to this staff by Mr. John Skaden, Miss Mary Blackall, Miss Doris Fitzpatrick, and Mrs. Dorothy Holbrook, The Siren, —1951, is a success. DEDICATION ',7e will always remember The twinkle of yoar eyes. The sweetness of your smiles. The tenderness of your sighs. '.Ye'll hear your voice In the whispering breeze, 17e will hear your laughter In the swaying trees. v e will see your face In the evening star. As you look down From your home afar. Yes, we'll remember While you're away And we'll keep praying To meet you again someday. Betty Pratt FACULTY 1st row Holbrook, Russell, Griffin, Rea, Skaden. 2nd row Cronin, Nolan, Finn, Wrigley, Sholes, Horrmann, Munson. 3rd row Hickey, Chase, Boucher, Brislln, Finn, Canavan, Maloney, Harmon. )(.th row Sheehan, D. (To Lake George) CLASS SONG Pond memories we shall recall Of all the fun we've had With teachers, books and friends so dear And classes good and bad. Prom Freshmen green to Sophomores gay Next--Juniors bright and jolly Class rings, the prom—our king and queen And then our Senior folly. The football games—our grand old team The chance to raise our money To help us prove our Senior trip Which proved to be a honey. But now at last we near the end Of cherished high school days Our Alma Mater Fort Edward High For You we'll sing our praise. Words by Ralph DiDomenico (To tune of Auld Lang Syne) CLA6S POEM Four years ago in L7 We entered here as timid Freshmen Wandering in halls and getting passes-- Our hayride was fun for lads and lasses. Proud Sophomores we then became; Our Halloween Party brought us fame. The Junior Year brought our prom and ring With all the joy this year could bring. Here we are, we finally made it I The name of Senior we truly merit; In choir we sing, at games we yell- V e rush to the door at the ring of the bell. Our homework is such that requires some thought; It's easier to copy if we don't get caught. Our lockers are stuffed with papers and pencils- But when we're in class we have no utensils. The life of a Senior is gay and carefree Each dance, each game a treasured memory. As the hour approaches for graduation Our hearts are filled with jubilation. We the Class of '5l Have fought the battle and have won; We've had our fun and trouble, too. And now, dear Juniors, it's up to yout Anne O'Hearn CLASS WILL The Class of 1951 of the Port Edward High School, of the town of Fort Edward, in the county of Washington, in the state of New York of the United States of America, supposedly of sound mind and body do hereby make, publish and declare This our last Will and Testament: J. THINGS WE'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER Remember! ______ Starting our high school career as meek Freshmen in the fall of we chose as our President Rudy Gitto; Vice-President, Donna Brusoj Secretary, Jean Ellis; Treasurer, Barbara Carroll. Alice Hayes was selected as Student Council member. Miss Etu acted as our chairman advisor for the year, and those who assisted her were: Mrs. Munson, Mr. Skaden, and Mr. LaMay. The highlight of that year was the Freshman hayride on that cold, clean, beautiful evening. Planning the Sophomore Halloween Dance which was the high point of the successful Sophomore year. Putting on the Christmas Assembly with Mr. Skaden as the director, and the three-one act plays which he so brilliantly directed. Officers for this year were: President, Nicholas LaSarso; Vice-President, Jayne King; Secretary, Donald Karg; Treasurer, Barbara Carroll; Student Council, Elaine Wood and Alice Hayes. Mr. LaMay, chairman and aided by Mrs. Munson, Miss Etu and Mr. Skaden helped to make this year the success it was. Our Junior year began with the selecting of officers: President, Jack Sheehan; Vice-President, Joe King; Secretary, Donna Bruso; Treasurer, Barbara Carroll; Student Council, Nick LaSarso and Muriel Mills. Our advisors this year were: Mr. Skaden, chairman; Mrs. Munson, Miss Etu, and Mrs. Russell. Selecting our rings, blue spinnel, which was one of the moments of our Junior year, as was the Junior Prom. Under the theme Moonlight and Roses leading the triumphant procession were the Prom King and Queen Jack Sheehan and Bar ara Carroll. Attending them were Donna Bruso, Alice Hayes, Muriel Mills and Pat Cutler. The success of our Prom concluded an eventful year. We hopped into our Senior year with a crash and a bang. Everyone worked extra hard to earn money for the New York and Washington Trip. From this super-salesman Job, we jumped enthusiastically into the Senior Play. To us it was a smash hit. Next, we skipped along to the much awaited Senior Trip. What fun! No one had a dull time. Something happened every minute from breaking light bulbs to singing on the tourist bus. For Senior leaders the class chose: President, Jack Sheehan; Vice- President, Nick LaSarso; Secretary, Barbara Carroll; Treasurer, Donna Bruso; Student Council members were Alice Hayes, Joe King and Bill LaClair. We are grateful to our class advisors Mrs. Russell, chairman; Mrs. Munson, Miss Etu, Mr. Skaden, and Mr. Coombs forthe great help they have given us. As the year draws to a close, we are waiting anxiously for our graduation. Yes, when we sit back and close our eyes, everything comes back... every word, every face, every joy, and every sorrow. It was a great career! Do you remember too? JUNIOR CLASS 1st row 2nd row 3rd row 4th row 5th row 6th row N. Lindsay, F. Butler, D. Turner, H. Perkins, D. Carroll, B. Powers, M. Murray, J. Osgood, F.
