Me of 195 It was gettrng qutte late as I arrrved at the Fort Branch Atrport I was returnrng from my vacatron rn New York and could hardly wart ttll I got to the hospttal to tell the staff about the people I had met After saymg good bye to my stewardesses CAROL JEAN HARTIG and NANCY JO WILKERSON and prlot and co prlot DON KIEFERand DAVE CARTER I went to the hosprtal It was durrng coffee break when I got there so Iwent to the cafe where most of the staff go to eat There I met PEGGY BLACKARD MARGIE HUELSMAN NANCY ODOM and SHARON MICHEL who are all nurses I also met some of the doctors I know DICK ELPERS and RONNIE WISE Instead of my dorng all the talkrng they started tellrng me about the new wrng that rs to be burlt on the hospttal The archxtect rs JUNIOR BEARD the engtneer LARRY CUNNINGHAM It seems that most of the money had been rarsed by the Ladtes Atd consrstrng of the followtng housewrves DEANNA EMERSON BARBARA HACKER ROSEMARY MARTIN DOROTHY MICHEL BARBARA JUNE WAGNER and JO ANN DOUGLAS and the Farm Bureau tmportant members of whrch are MAX FAUQUHER RUDY ROY DONNIE THOMPSON and RONNIE WOODRUFF After lrstenrng a long ttme I told them about seerng JANICE BUNTING and one of her great parntmgs at the Metropolrttan Museum of Arts I had also seen DAVE NEUFELDER who told about wrnnrng the 1966 500 M11e Auto races Upon leavtngthe hosprtal Iwem to KENNY SIDES Body Shop to get my car CHARLES SCHMITS now trustee and Kenny were drscusslng the teachrng staff for the followrng year It seems that VINCENT BAEHL ts to be pnnctpal and teach vocatronal agrtculture GLENNIS MCGUIRE and HELEN WEBER commerce JOYCE TOWNSEND home economrcs CHARLIE SCOTT socral studles LARRY HANOLD math MARVIN PITCOCK rs to be coach SHARON ENDlCOTTw1ll teach rn the elementary department and JANET WEBER wrll be school secretary I asked Kenny rf he had heard from any of the boys rn the Coast Guard PAUL ODOM JOEY SCOTT and BILL SMALL He told me that he hadn t but he had heard from SAM SMITH and BILL SCHMITS who are now playrng wrth the St Lours Cardtnals They sard that DON MCNAIR rs now a radro tecnlcran and maklng good at rt Just then a bus drove up It was full of secretarles gotng to a secretarral conventron at Evansvtlle Indrana Some of the secretanes were CAROL SUE DOUGLAS JANE GENTRY EVA MAE SPINDLER GWEN TATE MARILYN WOOLSTON MARGARET MARTIN and SINA UT LEY After talktng a long ume to them I headed for home and sat down to relax a whtle and watch TV before getttng supper When I turned on the televtsron there to my surprrse was MARTHA JEAN RIDDLE as home economrst for the Emge Packtng Company but she wasn t saytng anythtng about the product I stead she sard If you belreve tn somethtng strong enough rt wtll come true Then I understood why the dream of all the senrors had been realrzed They had belxeved strongly enough tn therr abtllty to do what they wanted to do Pat Trainer 21 - I Q ' - 1 1 1 1 I 1 f 9 1 - I . 1 . fa af ms FRLSHMAN YEAR On the fxrst step of our htgh school days we were placed under the gutdance of Mtss Berger and Mr Weaver Our ftrstsetofofftcers was ROHHIC Woodruff prestdent Vrncent Baehl v1ce presrdent Glennrs McGu1re secretary and treasurer Jo Ann Shephard reporter and Student Councrl members were Dtck Elpers and Martha Jean R1ddle For the annual Oompah we chose Jane Gentry and Bruce Carter for our candtdates Later tn the year we elected Barbara Hacker and Gwen Tate to be attendants to the Basketball Queen SOPHOMORP YEAR We moved up to the second step ready to start another full year Mr Weaver left us but was replaced by Mr Waters The elected offrcers thrs year were Larry Cunntngham prestdent Helen Weber v1ce presrdent Glennts McGu1re secretary Dorothy NllLhC1 treasurer Joyce Townsend reporter and Larry Cunntngham and Barbara Hacker served onthe Student Counctl Tlus was the year that we got those all rmportant class Jackets sweaters and rtngs We were proud to have Jane Gentry elected as one of the xarsrty cheerleaders She keeps th1s posttton unttl she graduates Those two who helped make up thc Basketball Queen s court were Glennts McGu1re and Carol Sue Douglas In the ltne of class fun we all entoy ed a football game at Evansvrlle Durtng thts pertod we lost Jo Ann Shephard Martha Gtbson Rat Beard Btll Rtchte and Jean Thompson JUNIOR YEAR Havtng passed the halfway mark we agarnreturned to elect Dorothy Mrchel presldent Nancy Jo Wtlkerson v1ce presldcnt CarolSue Douglas secretary Carol Jean Harttg treasurer and Margte Huelsman reporter Barbara Hacker and Dorothy Mrchelrepresented us on the Student Counctl A btg success of thrs term was our class play BOOKS and Lora Lou Harmon and Larry Trtble to retgn over the festtvttres For the annual Basketball Coronattonwe selected Joyce Townsend and Nancy Jo Wxlkerson to be attendants As rt seems rt must always be we lost a member Bruce Carter but we gatned two addtttonal ones Charles Scott and Deanna Emerson We were proud to see some of our members gtventhe prtvtlege of attendutg Hoosler Gtrls State and Boys State They were Margte Huelsman Glenms fNlCCU1l'C Carol Jean Harttg Martha Jean Rtddle Mar1lynWoolston Davrd Carter and Max Fauquher SENIOR YEAR We have ftnally reached our goal we have looked forward to thts year for a long ttme To lead us through thts memorable year was Paul Odom servtng as presrdent Nancy Jo Wrlkerson v1ce presrdent Margre Huelsman sec retary Larry Hanold treasurer Patsy Tratner reporter and Barbara Hacker and Paul Odom on the Student Councrl W e found ourselves mrnus one old member thts year Bonny Crow But agarn we were glad to welcome back Ray Beard and a new face Ronald W1se The Basketball Queen for thrs year was selected from our own class Thts honor was bestowed upon lvfartlyn Woolston wrth Glennts McGu1re her matd of honor and Martha JeanR1ddle attendant short tlme later Joey Scott and Glennts McGurre were elected Mtsletoe Kmg and Queen of the annual Chrrstmas Dance Sharon Eudxcott was chosenthe Good Ctttzenofour school and we all know how she deserves II Sam Smrth and Carol Sue Douglas were our caudtdates for Ktng and Queen of the W1 nter Carmval Besrdes all these spectal occasrons we were kent qutte busy wrth all our money maktng projects tn order to take our trrp to Washrngton D C workrng on the school paper and the annual tryxng to produce a successful class play and maktng those all rmportant dectstons for the most rmportant cxent of the entrre four years OUR GRADUATION!
