As we were leavmg the restaurant a shmy black lrmouslne drove up and out got another one of our classmates BERNITTA DILBECK wlth a fellow whom we all remembered as a star basketball player Bernltta had also been to the races but smce the place was so crowded we hadn t seen them She had just returned from New York where she had seen LODEMA KRAMER who was now one of the most famous mtenor decorators of the world After talklng to Bernltta for a whlle longer we h aded for Evansville All along the way we saw billboards advertlsmg the basketball game which was coming to Evansulle soon Two gurls teams were to play After readmg these advertxsements for about thrrty minutes we finally realized that the Captam Cleo they all told about was none other than our former classmate PATSY CARTER We wanted to stay to see the game but smce we were rushed for time we decided we had better not While we were lookmg over the clty we spotted a large office bulldmg with a slgn out side whlch read If you are tired and worn see 'VIARY MARGARET BOREN Under this was the slgn Mary Margaret Boren Psychlatrrst We dxdnt have anythmg speclal to do for awhlle so went In to see Mary Margaret When we walked mto the waltlng room we got another surprise There sat CLARENCE CLEVELAND He told us he was a used car dealer so had plenty of worries and was very tired and worn He sand that BOB CENTRY had been helpnng hlm for awhrle but he had qult to take a posltlon as coach at lndlana Unlverslty About that tlme the door to the mner office opened and there was BETTY ANN LUTZ She was worklng as Mary Margaret s secretary Betty Ann called Mary and we all had a nlce vrslt Betty Ann told us that JEANETTE ROSE was now a reporter for the Evansville Courier She had written a very colorful report on the murder of the owner of the Trocadero After we left Mary Margaret s ofhce we walked on down mam street We walked down to the rrver and facxng the rrver we saw a large modern drug store We looked at the bright neon slgn and werent too surprised when we saw Staley s Drug Store We couldnt pass up the opportumty so we went rn to talk to her a mmute MARY LEE told us that PAT TRIBLE was now teachxng Government at dear old Fort Branch l-llgh She also said she had had a letter from TERESA MAYER who rs now model mg rn New York Teresa sald that she had seen PHYLLIS REYNOLDS and EUGENIA HACKER who were gettmg ready to sail for Paris She said they were now buyers for a large dress shop and were gorng to Pans to see the latest fashions By the time we had Enlshed our conversatxon rt was tlme to be leavmg Saying good by to Dons Jeanne and Gus I headed for the tram depot There l bought a ticket to Call forma where I was to put on my new radlo show Whlle l was waltmg for the tram I was thrxlled to thunk that all my classmates had gone so far and accomplished so much I wonder what the next ten years wxll hold for us3 DON HILL n n a , . a . , . . , - - u 1 an , . v . , - - ' u ' n u o A . . glzofzfle 5: While on one of my many trxps through Kentucky I came through the crty of Loulsvrlle where I notxced people from all over the U S Then I realnzed rt was the day for the Kentucky Derby As I was rn no hurry to get to my destmatlon I declded to stay a day and see the race I pushed through the crowd and hnally managed to get to a seat As I was looking around I spotted a guy wrth a racxng form coke and a cxgar rn one hand and a hot dog pencxl and a parr of bmoculars m the other I also notxced the girl slttmg next to hxm who looked very famlhar At a second look I reallzed rt was my old classmate DORIS JEANNE SCALES I hurrred over to dxscover the character behmd the raclng form was DOYLE WALLIS We were very happy to meet again after ten years from dear old Fort Branch Hugh School The horses were commg on the track as we were dlscussmg our school days together We were also very much mterested ln the race because two of our classmates had entrles ln the race JOHN JOHNSON owner of the Calumet Stables rn Lexmgton and CARL WEBER owner of the Royal Stables xn Callfornla Looking over the raclng form we dlscovered that TED NEUFELDER was the Jockey for the Calumet Stables The horses were ln the startmg gate ready to go when we heard a cry from the stands Hot dogs' Hot dogs' Get em whrle they re hot' It was none other than FRANCIS ASBERRY FERRY JR Francrs mformed us that ANNA LOUISE KUESTER was ahead by ten lengths Twmkle Toes Carl Weber s entry was second They rounded the turn headmg for home wlth Blue Nose strll leading Fmally Blue Nose won the race wlth Twinkle Toes runmng second GUSSIC suggested we go someplace for lunch ln hrs new 59 Mercury I agreed and we took off We had not drrven far when we saw a beautiful mght club wrth The Dlrty Shame Inn ln brg lights We could not resist so we pulled rn The doorman a tall dark and handsome young man greeted us It was JOHN HARRY KRAMER John told us the club was owned by ROGER MAYER and DON BARRETT When we got mslde we saw none other than BETTY JOYCE, WILKERSON She had become a famous performer who traveled all over the world Having done so much travelmg she had kept m touch with a lot of the classmates She Informed us that COLEEN RIFFERT was now resting after the completion of her latest movle She also told us that ADA MARIE VAUCHT was vacatlomng ln the old home town whlch by now was almost as large as Evansville It seems that Ada Mane IS a graduate nurse now and has her eye on a certam doctor who rs gaming mter natxonal fame C - . . . - , . was a Chiropractor.
