Qfass gfisfory On September 5, I944, fifty-two timid freshmen entered the portals of learning. Through four years we have labored and finally convinced the faculty that we are pre- tentious and an intelligent group. Miss Craper and Mr. Weaver were the sponsors of our freshman class. We started our year off wisely by selecting the following officers: President, Donald Elpersg Vice President, Harold Gwaltney: Secretary, Mary Lou Bordersg Treasurer, Bernadine Mclntire. f Basketball queen attendants were Millie Meny and Ruth Rexing. Mary Lou Borders and Harold Gwaltney represented us at the Oompah. The summer months flew by and our second year in good old F. B. H. S. was about to start. Betty Beadle and Ruth Rexing were our contribution to the yell leaders in this year. As attendants to the basketball queen we had Marjorie Lou Gray and Bernadine Mc- lntire. Oompah candidates were Donald Elpers and Millie Meny. Those elected as officers were: President, Jack Boreng Vice President, James Barrett: Secretary and Treasurer, Aline Mcllree. With half of our high school education past we anxiously waited our junior year. As befalls every Junior class we returned to school with the task of raising funds for the Junior and Senior Prom. We gave our class play, A Credit To The Family. Millie Meny was elected yell leader to let our class have the honor of hlaving three yell leaders. Harold Gwaltney made a name for himself in basketball by being the leading scorer of the county. This year Roberta Reeves and Lois Riddle were our basketball attendants and Kenneth Jackson and Eleanor Douglas were crowned King and Queen at the Oompah. Our leaders this year were: President, Donald Wallace: Vice President, Eleanor Douglasg Secretary, Lois Riddleg Treasurer, Donald Elpersg Reporter, Millie Meny. The great event of this year was the Prom which concluded our junior year. In September of '47 we found ourselves climbing the last steps of our high school career. Our year started with Ray Williamson and Wanda Silkey being elected as Compah King and Queen. Roberta Reeves was chosen basketball queen with Mary Lou Borders and Ruby Hamilton as her attendants. Work was begun on the Benedictus with Mrs. Brown and Mr. Williamson as our supervisors. Class officers for this year were: President, Alan Hickrodg Vice President, Harold Gwaltney: Secretary, Kenneth Jacksong - Treasurer, Donald Elpersg Reporter, Donald Wallace. As we close our high school career we, the class of '48 look to the future, hoping that our lives may be happy and successful ones.

glass roplzecy Fort Branch, Indiana May 8, 1958 Mr. Carol Heldt, President Standard Oil Company New York 20, New York Dear Carol: Well, after ten years in Brazil as a buyer for the Standard Oil Com- pany I have returned to Fort Branch, the scene of your happy school days. You 'd be surprised how it has changed. Tl1e first thing I noticed as I stepped off the train was a beautiful new depot. I was so astounded that I thought I had made a mistake. As the red-cap approached I saw that it was none other than ALAN HICKROD, our former classmate. Alan showed me around the building and told me that the plans were drawn by JAMES BARRETT, now an architect and construction was under the supervision of ROBERT LOCKHART, a famous engineer. After leaving Alan, I was struck by the brilliance of a large neon sign reading LOGAN'S . Upon entering, I discovered a beautiful night-club on the site of McCormick's Cafe owned by our classmate ROBERT NEUFELDER. Bob told me that he is happily married to RUBY HAMILTON. Star performers in his Hoor show include MILLIE MENY, LOIS RIDDLE, WANDA SILKEY and ALINE McILREE. After leaving Logan 's I passed a news-stand' and instantly stopped because the clerk was KENNETH ROMERSHAUSEN. Romeo told me the news of many of our rural classmates. NORMAN THOMPSON and ARNOLD MICHEL are 11ow world-famous hybred corn raisers. KENNETH WEBER, married an Evansville girl, and is a large stock man. He supplies live stock to the Elper's Packing Company, successors to Emge's, and of course the president is DONALD ELPERS. JEAN ROHL entered nurses training and plans to make a career of it. FLOYD SILKEY has left the farm and now has a famous hill-billy band. His chief songstress is BETTY BEADLE. Included in the floor show are JACK BOREN, EDDIE BALES and BOB SIDES, as the Three Terrific Terrifying Tumblers.
