f RAIIA VICTORIA PRUPHILLY When the class of nlneteen hundred and thlrty five rece1ved the1r dlplomas each went out 1nto the world to become master of h1s professlon The day came the twenty fnfth of Aprxl 1945 ten years after the class mates had bade each other farewell at Commencement exerclscs back ln 1935 I had communlcated Wltll every member of my old class and had asked each and all to come to our old home town for a reun1on Oul meetmg place was the mstltutlon where we had recelved our h1gh school educatlon name ly Old Fort Branch Hlgh School I had Just seated myself ln the rest room of Fort Branch Hlgh to revlve old memorles when I heard a knock on the door It belng early I dldn t expect any classmate I opened the door there stood Murlel Cham bexhn I 1nv1ted her 1nto the SDZCIOUS rest room Wh1Ch was luxuuously fur nlshed and after talkmg a short tlme I leal ned she had been away from Fort Branch qu1te avu h1le also l1ke myself She sa1d she had gone South accepted partnersh1p w1th a young man who was an expelt 1nter1or deco Whlle talklng of school days I reached over and tuned 1n on statlon WGIN I heard thls sentence M1 Donald BlOSl193,l'b an expelt mechanlcal engmeer w1ll not speak on New Inventlon unt1l next week at the same t1me The next one to arr1ve was Frank La Rose He had become the man ager of a large prmtmg firm m St Louls Whlle Frank and Murlel were talkmg I walked over to the wmdow and I saw two men and two young lad1es commg down the street I rushed to the outsxde door opened It and m walked B1lly Kell and Doyle Rlslnger and thelr WIVGS B1lly sa1d he was a basketball coach at Indlana UHlN8TS1ty and Doyle was a pol1t1ca1 leader and was progressmg very rap1dly Slowly the rest room door opened and 1n walked Donald w1th a charm 1ng young lady who was h1s W1f9 He told us he had a very prom1s1ng fu ture 1n radroland as well as 1n Mechan1cs The mmutes were stored Wlth laughter when an orchestra broke forth 1nto a snappy Jazz We all ran to the gymnas1um from whence the mus1c was soundmg and to our surprxse there was Margaretmonroe Yager at the plano and Genevleve Wood was render1ng the vocal number along w1th a large fifty plece orchestra After awh1le we all heard a blg buzzmg noxse all havmg run outslde we dxscovered Ben had m1grated from New York mtendlng to return to Indxanapohs to h1s buslness of the Delsel Motor Company We learned Charles Davls was hxs partner and both were planmng on entermg a five hundred mile race at Indxanapolls I7 c6q Q ' I ' m - ' 7, - - .1 V - H . . . . . y h - ' v u 7 - I .
