H1 to CLASS PROPHFCY CC ontinuedl It was closing time so ohn Lawrence asked us to go home with him for dinner We accepted and he called Lawrence and gave him the address and told him to be there also We wondered where we were going to dine At ohnnys club w guessed He drove up in front of a dear little bungalow ind said that was his castle A familiar looking girl was standing in the door and as we approached the porch we got the shock of our lives for who should it be but Ihelma Iwpperson formerly We had dinner and sat a long time tilklng ohn Lawrence said that Carl and Angelyn had split up after being eng aged five years and Carl was working hard on a chemical experiment to forget himself I xsked xbout Angelyn but the question was avoided and Thelma suggested that we go to a show We went to a very good theatre and the picture was enjoyable but I could not get interested in the vaudeville after the first part for it was an acrobatic act and I was suit the lady was Angelyn that we go around to the stage door we did so and met the acrobatlc lady Sure enough it was Angelyn' She said that after she broke her engxgement with Carl she decided to take up vaudeville at which she had been rather successful Having had sufficient excitement for one dry we bxde johnny and Thelma good bye and went to a hotel to spend the night dhe matron came to meet us and who should it be but Clga Berger She said she had a very good position and that Marie Sollman had a similar position in Boston The next morning we went to Boston to see lVlar1e We stayed there until noon and then went to a girls school that Marie told us xbout There we found Paulean Reynolds She was a physical trainer and was loved by all of her pupils She told us she had just had a letter from Irma who was in Europe singing in an opera and that the unusual quality of her voice was creating much excitement We left Paulean and started out again in the plane This time we went south west and the first thing we knew Lawrence landed the plane in Emge s field and bade us visit around while he went home Alma remarked that she had not heard from her cousin for quite a while so we called her home Her mother informed us that she was llvmg ln Haubstadt We caught a traction and went to that village After getting information from a small boy we found the house Lillian was at Fern s house and we learned that she lived next door They were both married Ferns husband owned a garage which we learned to be Weis and Lillian s husband was a valuable man at Emges We could not stay long with the girls as we must find some more of our classmates so we bade them adleu and started back to Ft Branch The next day we again started out We went east of town Stopping at a farm on the road to get some water we discovered that Geraldine lVIcCarty lived there but it was Geraldine McCarty no longer as she like others of our class mates had changed her name We talked to her a long time learning that Walter had taken over the Michel farm after a college course in agriculture and was hiving great success with Page Seventeen 19 29 . 'f j i 1 I . .I ' , e A ' ' . . 1 .' 1 f 1 ' Thelma tried to divert our attention, but nothing doing. After the show Alma insisted
