The Student Council hard at work preparing for Longhorn Day. student council accomplishments The 1979-80 student council had a number of accomplishments that attempted to better our school and bring a sense of pride to the student body. The first event to be dealt with when school began in September was homecoming. This year the tradition was broken from past homecoming ceremonies. Coronation was held in the auditorium, which was decorated by the chorus and there were added features such as more escorts, folders, and speeches from various sports captains. A special thanks to Mrs. Holst who had a large role in this success. The next major change came when Longhorn Day rolled around. The council spent many hours considering ideas that would make Longhorn Day a day filled with fun and meaning. The result was an afternoon at Soggy Bateman s, playing softball, volleyball, frisbee, and getting dunked in the creek, after a lunch of sloppy joes fixed by the council members. The feedback from the students more than suggested a good time was had by all. Along with these two events mentioned, the student council also kept up with all of the other events it is responsible for. With the cooperation of the student body, the future councils can continue to change FBHS for the better. RSR GYMNASTICS 88 £ Fort Benton, Montana NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Left to Right- Chris Stone.
