The full band performed in the home- coming parade, Thanksgiving Concert, Spring Concert and Memorial Day Parade, and in the District Music Festival, where the band received a superior rating. This year smaller ensembles performed such as a woodwind trio, Hungary five band, and a brass ensemble rather than a stage band. The Pep Band had a busy year of home games, district tournament, and a trip to Conrad. The band was honored by ten, preauditioned All-State Band members: Diane Ritter, Rachael Vielleux, Dione Albers, lone Bratvold, Gary Tay- lor, Lea LaBarre, Ed Lenington, Candy Meredith, Clarice Holm and Carolyn Holm. Further honor came as Carolyn Holm represented Fort Benton as the first chair bassoon in All-Northwest Band. - •------------- Mr. Schreuder directs band during the Spring 28 Concert.

Under the direction of Mr. Jerry Schreuder, the Pep Band boosted school spirit by playing at all home basketball and football games and during District Basketball Tourna- ment. The Pep Band also traveled to Conrad for the divisional play-off games. The band, selected by Mr. Schreuder, entertained the spectators during the half-time and assisted the cheerleaders. Much versatility was exemplified by the members as they played num- bers ranging from Birth of the Blues to Hands Across the Sea,” a concert march. Since many of the players were from the junior high band, they gained added experience. Led by Mr. Schreuder, the Pep Band performs at one of the many home basketball games in their traditional uniforms. It looks as though everyone is concentrating deeply on giving a good performance.
