The girls were dressed in men,s pajamas and bedroom slippers, and carried hot water bottles. They wore no make-up, but a generous covering of cold cream was on each face and their hair was done up in rag curlers. The boys, adorned in diapers, T-shirts and infants, bonnets, carried baby bottles and wore make-up. Both boys and girls were anchored with rope hobbles. A dance was given for the freshmen after the initiation and later a return dance was given for the seniors. In the spring, of course, the MB was painted, after which the painters enjoyed a picnic. SOPHOMOBES-As the next September came around, the class of '51 came tripping back to school, not as shy as they had been the year before. The year did not prove to be very eventful, but we decided to leave that for the next year. In the spring, at the class picnic, Margaret Lacey showed her Amazon strength by throwing Bill Urton in the creek-just for a change. Thus ended our trials as under classmen. JUNIORS-Ah, at last, upper classmen. In 1949 Beryl Rucker, Ronald Farrell and Del Swerdfeger represented the class as members of the varsity basketball squad. NStar Crazyf, chosen as the annual junior play, was presented in April. ln the spring Blue Moonn was selected as the theme for the prom. SENIORS-At last our dream had come true-we were 'seniors-! Del Swerdfeger was elected as president to lead the class through the last year of our high school career. Bob Morrison was vice-presi- dentg Jack Ennis, secretaryg Merrill King, treasurer. Now it was our turn to be on the controlling end of the paddle. Initiation of the freshmen was held and a dance was given in their honor to end the fun. Later a return dance was given the seniors by the freshmen. In December the senior play, What A Life, starring Ray Wadsworth, was presented. ln the spring Ruby lVlcKeever was crowned Prom Queen. Later, Sneak Day was enjoyed with Baccalaureate and Commencement following. Of course, the annual trip to the BH was undertaken with the freshmen supplying the muscle for the rock hauling and white-washing under the supervision of the seniors.
