FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The freshman year 1S a year of doxng thlngs for the other classes especlally the semor class The freshmen spent a few of their first days ln hlgh school wlth a great deal of dlgnlty CODSldeI'lI'lg their mltxatlon costumes Gunny sacks and overalls approp rxately baggy were worn mstead of dresses shxrts and trousers sugar sacks tled around the feet were worn ln place of shoes and any sack large enough served as an all purpose locker Thls class prov1ded prom1s1ng prospects for future years Chrls Small proved to be a good enough basketball player to make the flrst team Mary Ellen Ennls represented the freshman cheerleadlng mterests Rena Schultz became a baton twxrler When sprlng came the freshmen boys agam and for the last time responded to the senlors wishes by pamtmg the B The gxrls m the class prepared and served a pxcmc lunch to both the semor and freshman c'asses FRESHMAN OFFICERS Presldent James Elllott Vxce Pres1dent Chrls Small Sponsor Mlss Mxldred Glover MODEL AIRPLANES During the past year the FBHS Manual Tramxng Department has constructed and sent to the Navy Department twenty f1ve more plane models which are 1n addltlon to the regular quota of th1s school The regular quota of the past three years has amount ed to a total of one hundred flfty planes which were sent to McClelland Fleld Sacramento Ca11fO1l1l2l For the schools own dlsplax duplicates have been made of all the VRIIOUS models and for some tlme were dlsplayed ln a down town wmdow to Uwe the CIIIZGIIS of thls communltx an opportunltv to compare 'i the varxous models Each model plane has been decorated vuth the regulatlon 1l'1S1gI11a of 1f,S govern ment A letter was recened by J M Hlndle Local DITCCUOY from R W Harper State Model Plane Dlrector expressxng the appreclatxon of the splendld work that the students of thls school have accompl1shed He further stated that these students occupy the posmon of 'exce1lence , sharmg It onlv mth two other schools 1n the state of Montana J M HINDLE Accompanyxng thxs letter was a certlfxcate from the Umted States Navy Bureau of Aeronautxcs statmg that thxs school has successfullv completed all of its quota durmg the period of 1941 through 1943 Secretary-Treasurer ,,,...,,,, ,.........,..,,,..,................, P hyllis Birkeland 1. .
