THE PIOHEER PAGE 25 SUPHU IIURF HISTORY Last year we embarked on our marden voyage on the plrate ship Fresh Manne LOUIG Russell headed the crew Long John Rommger was flrst mate Wally Morger kept the log land a mxghtv bloody one lt wasv and Georgre Uptmor counted the gold On our frrst plunderlng expedrtron we captured Mlss Grllesple as sponsor The crew from an enemy shrp the Sen Yore forced us all to walk the plank on roller skates but we survlved and gave them a party on a desert 1sle Next we plundered the galleons Stunt Nlght and Kodak Day sallrng off wlth flrst and second prrzes Later we crossed lanes wrth the Sen Yore agam and were forced to whltewash the decks Then we sarled away for the Sophomore Maln This year we embarked on a larger stolen shlp the Sopho More We made all our old offxcers walk the plank and with Bob Martm as plrate captarn Dorothy Worrall as mate and George Stephens to keep track of the treasure we agam captured Mlss Harrlet Grllesple That old enemy the Sen Yore Wlth a different crew robbed us of our right to make the Fresh Manne crew walk the plank rn balbarous costume We went ashore on a cannlbal lsle and gave all the cannlbals a party the Mutmeers furnlshmg musrc CLASS OFFICERS Presldent Bob Martln V1ce Presldent Dorothy Worrall Secretary and Treasurer George Stevens Sponsor Mrss Harriet Grllesple PIUNEER DA! Accordmg to Montana weather tradrtlons Proneer Day tarted off wlth the usual clouds and showers but the sun peeped through enough to enable takmg prctures The parade found the majorrty of the students and facultv clad ln various scant and comlc costumes In addrtlon to the program of varled stunts and sk1ts grven by the classes and organrzatlons the student body went collegrate and held a jam sessron to clrmax events The sophomores captured the prrze for the best stunt a burlesque show featurlng exght graceful and daxnty dancrng g1rls Other prrzes were awarded to Agnes DeBru1n as the devrl and Carl Tadey a sweet refrned grrl young Englrsh teacher who began teach mg rn the grades She opened her flrst class by lay mg down the law tellmg the krds what would be expected of them and above all what would not be pe' mltted She sald There are two words that I posltxvely w1ll not allow anyone to use rn thls class They are lousy and screwy She paused a moment to let lt slnk rn but Jack Anderson lsophr got lmpaflem and asked What are the words teach er?
