1938 -1 B H HISTORY UF JUNIOR CLASS UF 1938 We are a merry bulldmg unron crew and for three short years we have been constructlng a dwellrng house Our flrst head carpenter Martm by name helped us get ou marerxal ready for our fram work under the guldance of Mr Borchers We had a few dlfflcultles at flrst for mstance when our crew would not work together unt1l those observmg semors took thmgs rnto then hands and made us mxx at a housewarm mg Havlng good luck except for a few strlkes and s veral mcorrect plans we left our Jobs for the spung and summer of 1936 and wen elsewhere to rest our Weary selves We began bulldlng agaln ln the fall of 1936-th1s tlme chooslng Keith Gordon as h ad carp nter Mr Hess agreed to be our boss and to keep us from bulldmg wrong or at a loss There were flfty elght members ln our unxon and It took a lot of cooperation to get all those Walls up wlthout one mlshap The walls nearly dxd fall down on a November nlght though because the sophomore party lasted so long but so much pep was d rlved at the party that we made extra progress the followmg week Why ou bulldmg was really begmnlng to look lxke somethlng The ground floors were already f11led but we had to have more boarders s we outllned and flled wlth Mr Hage our progresslve xdeas for next year and adJourned rn the Spflng of 1937 September came only too soon but We plcked up our hammers and saws and were back searchmg for the threads of our former plans This year Frank Culbertson was head carpenter and Mlss Clarls Brown was our boss Thes two leaders helped us look back over those other two years and we saw a lot of mlstakes and places tha were left yawnxng and vacant and roughly flnrshed We hav one year lef to comple e our dw ll1ng and we have already added our second floor by sweep ng up the shavlngs and charglng for a Junlor housewarmlng fproml and a play deplctxng some of our members We need a roof yet and we are golnfr to leave a lot of plaln walls so that 1f ever the need comes we can burld on and expand for extra boarders In God we trust to gne us the amb t n patlence and falth o bu ld on and on Abe Is that the moon r1s1ng over thereo here mvs lf Coach Zlle un geometry?
