HHH — 4 eres i . | 4 Foreword The feelings a student acquires as he passes through twelve years of formal schooling are deeply felt and difficult to express in words. One emotion that is felt almost universally by graduating high school students is one of anticipa- tion. For, as Winston Churchill once said, “‘This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. It is rather the end of the beginning.” The FORTRESS is more than a collection of pictures and words. It is a library of memories and reminders of all the good and the not so good, the easy and the not so easy, the fast and the not so fast, school life and all its riches. As you journey through this book, the 1971 Fortress Staff hopes that you will share with us some of the pride we have in it and in what it so proudly represents. This is our story of the final curtain, ending our beginning at Fort Ashby High Schoool. Enjoy it, please, we did. ed = ———_ ——$—--§$§—§$§$§$§— SXK$— TT mmm ee Do You Remember | ee meee aa seer tzt pitti a -” ane sya =—s ee ee ? | the One Who... .
