FUTURHMIC F In D17'7G5 i By Darlene Sneed In study hall as I sat dreaming, I glanced at the seniors Whose eyes were gleaming With hopes for the future and what it holds. I closed my eyes, to the teacher's relief, And, yes, to my classmates' unbelief. I was having dreams crowd in on me. And in those dreams I found I could see . Us all doing things we'd have thought couldn't be. Now, since you're all in a state of suspense, I'll tell what I saw, and what's happened, Hence: TEN YEARS LATER ' Our Ewing Thorpe has just won the Pulitzer prize in literature for his best seller, Shakespeare, the Man. Q , ' Alma Rose Kennedy is now Mr. Goads' private secretary and bookkeeper. ' James Suttles has the illustrious title of Dr. Suttles, Foot Specialist. Bettie Calley has put her scholastic ability to use and is now a mechanic at the Ford Factory. Jimmie Shoults is owner and chief operator in Pierre de Schoultz's Beauty Salon . Betty Lynn Oglesby has become a pilot and boasts of many exploits and world records. Our President, Bob Baker, has taken over the place in the dancing world vacated by Fred Astaire. Sara Chanslor has just won the 1961 academy award for serious and tragic dramatics. J. Y. Turnage is now a member of the Foreign Legion. Marie Petty is still Marie Petty and is matron of a girls' boarding school and teacher of Ancient Greek Mythology. ' Larry Stockton is now head waiter in a French cafe. Darlene Svneed takes inventory at the local aquarium. Patsy McNallen causes 'all the umbrellas on sunny days and the sun glasses on rainy days--she's the daily weather reporter. Wayne Huestis is now the music teacher in Odessa High School. - Norma Dawes is an outstanding television star and advertises toothpaste smiles.
