They can be images in a mirror or looking back to memorable high school experiences. The Class of 1971 would like to give various examples of these in an effort to fill this yearbook with memories for the reader. The Seniors would like to present the “71” Cardinal. Reflections of a BIG victory over a rival! Reflections of a warm fall day at the Freeport YWCA. Reflections of conferences for those important future plans. Reflections of a long, hard day in the Home Ec room. Classes Senior Casuals At the beginning of the second semester, all the seniors were given senior passes to use during their study halls. They could go into the cafeteria and play the juke box, and they could eat candy bars and have pop. Don’t these six Seniors look busy? Joann 15,60,76,78,80,82,85,83 Zettle, Gene 31,72 Closing An image is projected. A reflection is ricochetted back. A copy of the original is viewed. Is this all the word “reflection” means? To use an old cliche, “It is a matter of point of view.” Through this book we have cast images of special people, places, and happenings. It is now up to the reader to view these and take from them memories of their 1970-71 school year. Each picture holds specific recollections, and they reflect to you, the reader, through your memory of this year. It’s a common saying that pictures are worth a thousand words. If this is true, we hope that you will derive more memories each time you lift its covers and sift through its pages. Hopefully, you will not only sift the pages, but you will also relive many of the ex- periences that you treasured while you attended the school this year. No doubt you have picked up an old yearbook and glanced at what you considered “old-fashioned” people and fashions. In a few years this book will join the ranks of the ‘old-fashioned’ when your children scan it, but it will still contain memories that you will always cherish. The projection has ceased! The image is no longer cast, but the reflection lingers in your memory and won’t be dissolved. We hope the book holds many memories for you, the reader, and for you, F.H.S., that won’t be forgotten. Yours, Gail Tidwell and the yearbook staff. V M • • ■ ' V V s 9t . V I % ’ V •:‘ « .4 • • V4 - • . •' .
