Auxiliary Staff Mrs. Genandt Stanley Bomgarden, Gwen Anderberg, Inez Brinkmeier, Donna Egan. Shortly after school opened last fall a new department was added on a part time basis: speech correction. A well-qualified lady, Mrs. Helen Genandt, came every Friday morning to work with a total of 16 students. It was felt this work would help all of these students do a little better in other school work as well as getting along better in every day affairs, even after regular school days ended. These students have all appreciated Mrs. Genandt s work. Tuesday is meal ticket day. Mrs. Brinkmeier and Mrs. Egan are here shown selling meal tickets to the two co-editors, Stan Bomgarden and Gwen Anderberg. The scene is not quite normal as a dozen or more often form a queue awaiting their turn to secure the means to a meal at noon. Mrs. Egan has been a capable assistant the past year in handling office work. She has the sole responsibility of handling the 400 students and teachers each noon at the cashier’s desk, then making a daily report, and the monthly report which goes to Oregon and Springfield. Play tickets, report cards, daily attendance records, operating the two copying machines and a lot of typing keep her day full. Mrs. Brinkmeier has more than served a banker’s apprenticeship. She keeps an exact and meticulous record of the more than $1000 per day of federal, state and local money required to operate buses, main- tain the building, secure supplies, employ teachers, custodians, cooks, bus drivers and a multitude of other items. The state auditor seems to relax when he audits her books — seemingly a pleasant task compared to some he encounters in big business concerns. Preparing a 15 to 17 page report for each monthly board meeting and writing checks after each board meeting is the monthly climax of this school banker-bookkeeper. She also takes care of a dozen student accounts plus phone calls, questions and inquiries that stream into the office daily. When she does any job it is well done — neat, exact and orderly. Mrs. Johnson is not only a fine nurse but also has uncommon common sense in dealing with both real and imaginary ailments. Students always feel better physically and mentally after a visit to her office. Good cooks are always happily married. Smart men don’t pass up such kind. That’s about it. Our quartet are really good, happily married and they know their stuff on daily meals, banquets, and track snacks etc. We appreciate these four fine ladies. LaVonne Vogt, Leone Kaney, Helen Smith, Mrs. Johnson, Sharon Bocker. Ruth Snap.
