With a new advisor on the way, we knew we would have to help each other out. Mike Lanz and Mark Aupperle attended the Washington Conference Program held in Washington D.C. in the last part of June. With financial help from the Alumni, four members and Mr. Zehr went to the National Convention, where we witnessed the reception of the American Farmer Degree by Jeff Zim- merman. Through the course of the year the FHA com- peted in many contests. We also sold citrus fruit, sausage, Vitality garden seed, and slaves. F.F.A. week, with the help of the alumni, was once again an excitement packed week. The fourth annual Agri-show was co-sponsored by the F.F.A. and the alumni. This showing was felt to the biggest success yet. The effort put forth by Mr. Zehr in his year at Forrest was greatly appreciated by the chapter. Row 1: Nathan Teubel, V. This year’s musical, “The Music Man”, was a musical comedy concern- ed with the life of a small Iowa city in 1912. It is the story of a rascally salesman whose trick is to whip up enthusiasm in small towns for starting a brass band, sell the instruments and uniforms, then skip town without teaching the musicians a note. In River City, he collects his money, falls in love with the local librarian, wins over her kid brother, is forgiven by the townspeople and the librarian alike when it becomes apparent that the ci- ty is a happier one, if poorer, for his presence. I feel my staff and I have put together a book that has captured some of the memorable moments of the 1983-84 school year. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the editorial staff for all the late school nights and summer hours they spent to complete the book. You have done a great job. Thank you Brendon Schrof, Lori Wycoff, Debbie Douglass, Amy Waibel, Eric Decker, and Tina Young. Also Allen Goembel deserves a big thank you. Without Allen and his camera we wouldn’t have been able to develop this great book for you. Thank you Allen. In closing, I would like to say that Mr. Fuller deserves the biggest thanks. This is his first year as a yearbook advisor, and for someone inexperienced with yearbooks, he sure learned fast. Also, without his artistic work on the cover and divider pages, we would have had a rough time. Thanks. I hope as you look through the book it will bring back precious memories of the 1983-84 school year. Sincerely, Tina Bauman, Co-Editor Since this is my first experience as a yearbook advisor, I take this opportunity to thank the yearbook staff for their guidance and patience as we put together the 84’ Tupek. The 84’ Tupek is a salute to the Eskimo spirit and pride that the students, teachers, administration, and community have for their school system. 1 must also thank Ruth Hubly for her guidance and support, Bill Mullins of Newsfoto for his constant patience and help. Sue Haab for the thankless tasks she performed, and Ron Jankun for his photographic talents. D. L. Fuller, Advisor 123 Home of... ... the Eskimos How’s (t Feel to Be an Eskimo? 126 (t Feels Great
