A Christmas Carol The Meadowbrook Christmas Program in- volved the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. Each class sang Christmas songs and perform- ed recitations for the audience. The teachers of these grades took their own personal time to find the appropriate recitations, and Mrs. Perry selected the songs. Many thanks to these teachers for their continued support and dedication. The Strawn Christmas Program was an “ex- tra special” presentation this year. It actually featured E.T.; and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students of Strawn School taught E.T. the real and true meaning of Christmas. The evening was spent in showing E.T. many of the tradi- tional aspects of Christmas, such as trees, lights, cookies, presents, snowmen, and Santa; but they were also able to show E.T. the love and spirit of Christmas that comes to all through the Christ Child. It was an enlightening experience for everyone! Jonathan Etter was the “little guy inside the E.T. costume. He was substituted at one time during the program by Tracy Steffen. Mrs. Perry extends a warm thank-you to all of the teachers and students of Strawn Grade School for their hard work and dedication in producing an excellent program! The Jr. High and High School Christmas Concert was a night of “showing off some newly discovered talents! The jr. high chorus was 45 members strong, and they proved to be a highlight and inspiration to the audience. They were followed by a high school girls sextet who sang, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”. These girls added a “special touch that helped everyone become filled with the Christmas spirit! The high school chorus was 52 members strong, and they performed various selections of Christmas music. The Swing Choir per- formed one selection for the evening and was followed by the jr. high band. After several Christmas selections, the band was joined at the end of the program by the combined jr. high and high school chorus. It was an exciting finish to the program because the selected piece was “Angels We Have Heard On High”. The band and combined choruses produced a very ex- huberant and spirited sound! The concert was under the direc- tion of vocal music instructor, Kandis Perry, and instrumental music instructor, Michael Stalker. 16
