STUDENT COUNCIL This group of people, selected by their respective classes and the student body,. is set up to encourage student voice in the administration. Among the year's activities which they have sponsored were the magazine campaign, Christmas Party and dancing classes. Betty Koehl served as president and Laura Sue Womack as secretary and junior member j. C. Ebach was chosen president of the Kankakee District at the annual meeting held last fall in Yorkville. Betty Koehl, j. C. Ebach and Patricia Shelby were chosen by the Coun- cil to attend the state convention in Peoria in April. Members of the group as seated above are Miss Marlar, adviser, Betty Koehl, Laura Sue Womack, and j. C. Ebach. Standing are Mr. Tomlinson, adviser, Patricia Shelby, Donald Hartman, john Honegger, juanita Foll- mer, and Dale Kuntz. The circle at right shows the group which attended the Yorkville meeting. THE ANN UAL STAFF The group of people comprising the Tupek staff, along with their adviser, Miss Marlar, accepted sole re- sponsibility for the make up of this year's annual One of the greater tasks confronting them was the-selection of a name from suggestions by the student body and faculty. lts name as the Tupek may be accredited to Mr. Tomlinson. The Tupek is somewhat like the lndi-an tepee and is the home that the Eskimo takes with him upon leaving his regular lodging, the igloo. Staff members as pictured at left are, in the first picture, seated, Loraine Loomis and Ruth Adam, co- editorsg standing are Miss Marlar and Joanne Fields, literary editor. In charge of sports were j. C. Ebach and David McLoughlin below whom are the grade school editors, jan Bach, Yvonne Hippen and Carol Sue Rieger. The bottom picture includes those working on circula- tion and advertising, Barbara Meyer, Dorothy Steidin- ger, Delbert Roy, Tom Keeley, and Paul Everett. QUILL and SCROLL This organization consists of students of at least junior standing who rank scholastically in the upper third of their classes, have done outstanding work on either of the school publications, have been recommend- ed by their adviser and have samples of their journalistic talent approved by the Executive Secretary of Quill and Scroll.
