BUQRU FNEIUIRERS 5ERVE THf 10 MUUWITJ Fred Aoll1g, pre 1dent of the Board, has served h1s f1PSt year that eff1ee At the school eleet1on follew1ng censol1dat1on was also selected to serve on the new Unlt Board r Aelllg the manager of the Quaker Oats Company at Strawn Mr. Albert Stexdinger is a farmer who Joined the Board 1nlS62 and has completed his seventeenth year th1s term He 18 a member of the Farm Bureau Durlng h1s seventeen years of servlce on the Board Mr. Steidlnger has always taken a lead1ng part 1n furthor1ng any progect for the good of the school and the eom unlty Mr Frank Knauer is a farmer also and has served h1s second year en the Beard He held the offlce of secretary thls year Besldes bo1ng a farmer and on the School Board he is a member of true effxelal beard of the Hethedlst Church Mr. Harry Pratt has served on the Beard of Edueat1en for seven years He is a llvestock farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau State Bank of Cropsey Hr Del narlin has served s1x years on the Beard Although he is a busy farmer, he has found t1mO te learn to fly an airplane axxd to do a little experimenting 1n photography In add1t1en to taklng eare of h1s farm he does outslde work such as corn shelllng and bal1ng Hr Hebron Garmen has been on the Board for three years Ho is a farmer working 160 acres Hls ma1n hobby 1S going to the movles He also takes a great 1ntorest 1n the basketball games MT. Roscoe Read is a new member on the Beard thls year He also has been elected to membershlp on the new Commun1ty Un1t Beard of Educatlen to serve Str wn, Forrest and Wing Mr Read takes a great interest 1n athletles and all school aff 1rs For several years he has been employed at the loyers Garage. HIGH SCHUUL FQCULTH REPORTS Mr. J. M Lattig has been superintendent of the Strawn schools for two years. His main hobbies are amateur radio and photography Both he and Mrs. Lattig have been licensed radio operators for a number of years and this year he guided his two sons to the same achievement Mr Lattig sponsored the Freshman Class and the Stu dent Council and taught English and radio. He attended Earstern Illinois State Teachers College and the University of Illinois receiving the degrees of Bachelor of Education and Master f Science He has had wide experience in both teaching and adminis tration and served as an officer in the Air Corps for four and one half years Miss Mabel Marlar assistant principal, finds photography an en grossing and useful hobby, using it both for making biology slides and for home movies for entertainment Miss Marlar sponsored the Pioneer the Senior Class, and the Junior Press Club The subgects which she taught this year were biology, commerce and Journalism She gr duated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Indiana State Teachers College widxa Master of Arts degree and has taken extra graduate work at the University of Illinois M Harry E Hagerman coackxfor beth the high school and the grade schooL graduated from Illinois State Normal University last June There he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education This year he h s had quite a successful season in both baseball and basketball giving the Strawn fans something to cheer about for the first time in sever l years hr Hagerman sponsored the and wood carving interesting hobbies Mr Albert H Eck rt, sponsor of the Junior Class obtained his education at Eastern Illinois State Teachers College at Charleston where he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education Chief among his achievements was guiding the Juniors th eugh a highly successful fin neial year and planning an engeyabl eurior Senior banquet hr Fekert ongoys reading but new that takes second place to playing with his young sen Jimmy Dick Mr Robert Snyder, music teacher of Str wn schools since the begin ning of the second semester, attended the Chicago Conservatory of lusie Northwestern University and is new a student at the Univer sity of Illinois where ho is specialising as a violinist His hobby is collecting symphony records and his main interest is always music, beth classical and popular I . i o e ' . . . . . n . . . 0 x. . . . - ' 1 . . 0 . , . . . . . 1 . . .
