“Faculty Mabel L. Marlar is principal for the third year of her career. She teaches the commercial subjects, and is the sponsor of the senior class, yearbook, Student Council, and the Theatre Committee. Miss Marlar, who was born in Chicago, attended high school at Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Outside of school activities she likes to spend her spare time bowling in winter and swimming in summer. She received her A. B. and M. A. degrees by attending De Pauw University, Indiana State Teachers College and the University of Illinois. Creel Plunkett is teaching mathematics and science for his first year in Strawn High School He is also spon sor for the freshman class He was born in Bagota, Ill and served in the Field Artillery in 'orld Var I Out side of making geological collections, he likes to fish and follow basketball Mr Plunkett attended Central Normal College at Danville, Indiana, Southern Illinois Normal at Carbondale and received his A B degree at the University of Illinois Virginia Glasener is teaching history and sponsoring the Junior class for her first year in Strawn She was born in Waterloo, Iowa and attended the University High School at Normal As a side llne, she likes to practice photography and to knit She received her B Ed at Illlnois State Normal University Miss Glasener also teache physical education for girls Edwln Bruell is coaching our basketball team this year He also teaches Engli h, sponsors the sophomore class, and is co sponsor of the Press Club M Bruoll was born 1n Lincoln, Illlnois and attended hlgh school at Muncie, Indiana In h1s spare time he tries h1s hand at writing books and songs He received his B S degree from the Universlty of Illinois 'Z-xx?-H r 'N- year is Eleanor Coakley whois also teach ing music and directing the junior and Kxzffff x senior class plays Miss Co kley was born L fqlg 1 in Toulon, Illinois and attended the high N X school there Her hobby is music and she NNN likes to follow football She attended Illinois State Normal Universlty 1 if 2 . - 'J s ' .
