P I in GOVERNMENT PROCESSES WITNESSED BY STUDENTS Yvonne Newlun, Lois McNichols, Marvin Witherow, and Ted Atkinson were selected by the American Legion Auxiliary on the basis of leadership and ability to attend Boys' and Girls' State, which was held in Ellensburg, Washington, July 1956. During the time they spent on the Central Washington campus, they acquired valuable knowledge of their government. When they arrived home, they were required to give extemporaneous speeches to the American Legion.
