“CLASS WILL Friends and colleagues, I have called you to assemble here as a solemn duty, that you, the heirs and assigns of my respected client, the class of 1951, may hear her last will and testament which, as her legal advisor, I drew, as directed by her, immediately prior to her passing from our midst. - It was her intentions and would have been her great pleasure to present you person- ally with these token of her esteem, but she found it impossible since her last days were so occupied with social engagements and dates not so social, but of great importance to the future, which she was obliged to keep with various members of the faculty. On these occasions such foreign and unexpected questions were addressed to her, and im- mediate answer writing being required, that the strain left her too weary for further effort With the above legitimate excuse in mind, if any slight discrepancies or apparent injustice or partiality should appear to you in the distribution of her effects, I trust you will pardon it and realize it is caused, not only from exhaustion, but also from slight mental instability. May I, as well as my lamented client, intreat that you receive your respective legacies in the spirit of unselfish friendship in which they were given? ITEM--We give and bequeath freely and without reservation or stipulations, to the Junior Class, our rightful heirs, and to their heirs and assigns forever, our most important and valued properties, viz. , our self-satisfaction, our profound wisdom, our outstand- ing record of achievement to be found in the archives of the school building, and any boy or girl we may have left behind in our hasty departure. ITEM--To our good friends, the Sophomore Class, we leave our patience. It will be found useful as the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. ITEM--To the young, tender, and unsophisticated Freshmen of next year we leave a map of the school building so that they will not get lost and roam around in everyone's way. We include with the map our little book entitled How to Tell the Teachers, a pamphlet compiled by us after 4 years of arduous study. The legatees will notice that this book is not WHAT to te ll the teachers, but HOW. It contains specific information as to which teachers can be bluffed, which are easy and which are hard to please, and which cannot be pleased at all. fContinued on Page 561
