The Freshmen Chorus and the Girls' Glee Club, directed by Mr. James Kasprzyk and Mr. Fred Schimmelman respectively, learned both sacred and secular musical com- positions to perform at the annual Christmas, Winter, and Spring Concerts. Forest View's 112-member choir, under the direction of Mr. Fred Schimmelman, was busy all year. Cancellation of the Fall Concert allowed more time to be devoted in prepara- tion for their winter program. The results were the Christmas Concert, given on Sunday, December 20, 1970, and the Christmas Assem- bly, performed the following day. In addition to the concerts at Forest View, the group en- tertained students at grammar schools and junior high schools, sang Christmas carols at Randhurst, and recorded a Christmas album. The choir also participated in the District 214 Music Festival, held on February 9, 1971, at Prospect High School. Another group of talented students was the Towne Criers. Comprised of ten girls and six boys, the group performed in the Vari- ety Show, the Christmas and Winter Con- certs, and at other schools. During a busy and successful year, they sang at Arlington Park Towers, the Mount Prospect Country Club, and the Mil1ionaire's Club at Golf Mill. Cole, Diane Johnson, Barbara Weber.
