Twenty- seven students, led by President Charles Mc- Haley and Vice-President Ted Maas, consti- tuted this yearis society. In addition to assembling the school calendar, NFL members planned a Christmas party, Qualified students interested in promoting scholarship in and understanding and enjoyment of mathematics joined Mu Alpha Theta. To be eligible, a student must have completed four semesters of college preparatory math and be enrolled in a fifth semester of math. The or- ganization stressed student involvement through the members' presentations of math-related projects. Guest speakers introduced different mathematical principles and applications, which proved to be both interesting and thought- provoking. AV Electronics Acquired Skills in Mass Media Audio-Visual Club members had the opportun- ity to participate actively in an educational program while performing services for both the faculty and students. Club members bene- fited from the general knowledge of communi- cations and technology they obtained. In addi- tion, they supplied teachers with equipment nec- essary for classroom learning and devoted time to help set up equipment for assemblies, class meetings, drama productions, and other school functions. AV Club extended membership to any inter- ested student with a C-average or better who received a passing grade on qualifying tests covering procedures and equipment. Under the guidance of Mr. Leroy Thomson, the Electronics Club gave students interested in electronics a chance to put their ideas into action. With President Joe Reiss and Vice- President Doug Watson, the members enlarged the television-servicing area while learning safe handling techniques of test instruments, radios, televisions, and other electronic equipment.
