Row 3: Karen Dodds, Carol Christmas, Larry Pressl, Paula Me- Representative Assembly Emphasized the Importance of Unity Among Students A concise statement of the goal of the Rep- resentative Assembly, Uto serve and unite, applied especially to this year as the organiza- tion strove to involve all of the different types of students in school-sponsored activities. Vol- untary class board enabled any interested stu- dent to voice his opinions and serve his fellow students. In addition, homeroom reporters, elected from among the students of a particular homeroom, improved communications by giving frequent accounts of Assembly plans and activities. The Representative Assembly divided its many responsibilities among eight committees, ranging from curriculum to finance. In the fall, Assembly members held a party for transfer students. They also sponsored the Variety Show, Fall Festival Week, the Canned Food Drive. and the fun nites. Headed by President Dave Ray, Vice President Lori Meade, Treasurer Kathy Betterman, and Secretary Diane Mis- kovetz, the Representative Assembly prepared for the National Association of Student Council to be hosted by Forest View High School in thfj summer of 1972. Exercising his duties as State Student Council President, Brian Gillespie con- tributed to the planning of this important event.- During the school year, the Representa- tive Assembly played an integral part in the success of school functions as it attempted to unite and involve students more fully.
