Studies in Agony Portrayed Struggle and Conflict Suddenly aware of her murderer Ueff Beebel, Mrs. Stevenson tMary Lynn Cottenl attempted to call for help when . . . Folial glared at the crown while the king watched. l Studies in Agony, the winter drama pro- duction, presented Saturday, February 6, in- cluded three one-act plays. Escorial, written by Michel de Cheldrode, focused on the actions of a bewildered king, played by Joe Hammond. As the queen lay on her deathbed, the court jes- ter, Folial, played by John Tofilon, attempted to overpower the king. Out of his mind with madness, the king ordered the execution of Folial. Sorry, Wrong Number, written by Lu- cille Flecter, portrayed the dilemma of an in- valid tMary Lynn Cottenl who tried to reach her husband by telephone. After asking the operator for help, she overheard a conversation concerning a murder. Unaware that the intended murder was her own, she frantically tried to get assistance, but the police would not listen to her story. If I Should Wake Before I Die starred the playwright, Mr. Charles B. Wilde, in the lead role as Johnny. A fiercely proud man, Johnny refused to accept just any available role, even though the opportunity would advance him in the acting world. The play illustrated the re- sulting hardships and torn thoughts that Johnny experienced. Kathy 0'Rouke directed Sorry, Wrong Number, while Mr. Wilde directed the others. Johnny, played by Mr. Wilde, expressed his thoughts to his lost love, Ann, played by Debbie Di Flavio. 'W
