V-Show Used Special Sound and Lighting Effects members performed to the contemporary dance number 'Tm a Man. funny piece of grassn in the flower pot provided a topic for one of the blackouts. Original blackouts, songs, and musical ar- rangements highlighted this year's Variety Show How Old Will You Be in 1984? The production, jointly directed by Mr. Robert Stelk and John Wegner, included over twenty acts and employed such special effects as strobe lighting and unique sound techniques. Individual performances ranged from Jo Ann Mugnolo's lamentation on the younger gen! eration in The Flower Song to Kerry Dono- van's entertaining portrayal of Charles M. Schulz' famous character, Charlie Brown, in Lunchtime, The novel space-age number, March of the Martians, contrasted with Rubber Ducky to illustrate the variety of dances presented. Ann VandenBoom and Sue Lubeck sang stage tunes from The Happy Ending and Sweet Charity, respectively. With the help of John Wegner, the Vocales pre- sented a comedy routine based on My Heart Belongs to Daddy. Folk singers Dee Dibble and Joy Agger set a poignant mood with Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye. Short black- outs concerned with a variety of subjects sep- arated the acts. After a brief intermission, the band played an original composition, C- 100, by Mr. Fred Elliot, the band director. The ensemble closed the show with the number, Beginnings, by the musical group, Chicago. Charlie Brown came to Forest View in an original skit by Kerry Donavon.
