lNear rightl At the first pep assembly, the De- mons planned defeat for the Falcons, tLower rightl Accidents didn't stop the Fighting Falcons. 1Middle rightl Mr. Ron Koehn, Director of Student Activities in Greendale, Wisconsin, led the stu- dent body in song at the first entertainment as- sembly of the year. tBelowJ Coach Darryl Phil- lips introduced the sophomore football squad at a class meeting. The inclusion of assemblies and class meetings in daily life provided va- riety for both the faculty members and students. Class meetings, although in- tended to be informative, often proved to be amusing, also. The pep talks, cheers, and skits at pep sessions gen- erated school spirit and kindled a desire for victory. Numerous additional as- semblies both enlightened and enter- tained audiences by presenting a variety of programs. I 10 Academic Opportunities Educational opportunities at Forest View expanded to meet the interests and needs of an increased enrollment. Stu- dents benefited from the addition of an eighth period to take an extra subject. Several departments offered many new and challenging courses. Independent Study allowed qualified students either to elect a course not included in the given curriculum or to progress rapidly in one in which he is proficient. Through the Self-Directed Activities Program, participants advantageously used free time for extra study. Whether the stu- dent at Forest View prepared for col- lege or for employment after gradua- tion, he found the curriculum markedly enlarged to include his needs.
